Walmart - Ripley, WV Review

Walmart replaced their first Ripley Walmart with a much larger Super Walmart.  The store is clean, new, and large, but it is in a more out of the way location.

Walmart is often the best place, and sometimes only, in the county to purchase a wide variety of items.  If you need something and don't want to drive an extra 20-30 miles, Walmart is often the only choice.

We often purchase household items such as linens, cosmetics,house fix-it supplies, paint, or kitchen items here.   We also buy the occasional clothing or sporting goods items.  Kids toys and electronics are usually well priced.

I like the variety, freshness, quality, and value of many grocery items.  I especially like the freshness and variety of meat, poultry, and produce.

The store is generally clean, and staff is usually helpful and friendly.  Beyond location, the biggest draw-back of the Ripley Walmart is poor staffing.   Very often there are just a couple "live" cashiers at the regular registers.  I guess Walmart corporate is pushing the self check out which are very slow unless you have just a couple items.  (Is Walmart phasing out paid cashiers?)
