Most HelpfulWalmart Shopping for Bicycles Any Bike/Bicycle - Just a short and sweet heads up to anyone buying a bike at walmart or anywhere it is good to know thier policy.
Once you bought it it is yours No Exchanges !!! They will fix it for free, but it will take a long time.....Look that bike over really good before...
read full review »Most of them are assembled by someone making minimum wage who doesn't care. Most of them have steal frames vs. lighter aluminum frames. You're lucky to find one that shifts properly if it's a multi-speed bike. One "sales associate" even told me they didn't have an air pressure gauge during assembly. "We just pump up the tires till they feel firm." PLEASE!
If the shift cables stretch, will Wal-Mart readjust them? No. If the bike needs a Spring check up, will Wal-Mart do it? No. If you have any warranty problems, you're only alternatives are an exchange or refund, IF it's within...
read full review »Went with daughter to Sedalia, Mo -Wal-Mart to buy a bike. Associate helped her pick a bike. Looked them over and couldn't turn handlebar to the left.- Brake and Gear cables had been wrapped around post wrong. Therefore- customers had stripped cables and kinked cables looking at bikes. It took 5 bikes of 3 different styles to find one in back installed correctly and not damaged. Look closely before you leave the store.
So I thought to myself, "time to get fit!", & here started the story!
I went to my local Walmart & bought a sub-$100 mountain bike, pretty standard, but adequate for my 57yr old frame & level of fitness.(l'm only 190lbs by the way)
So the first bike gets it's 1st outing, & there's a terrible clunking & grinding coming from the pedals or the pedal crank, l don't know which, so l phone around several Wally outlets after maybe 3 not being able to get hold of the bike technician, & 2 others were unable to get the correct department!
When l eventually do get hold of the onsite bike technician, he cannot...
read full review »Walmart has an array of bikes however there not the best quality. If you plan on using a bike from walmart as a primary means of transport your in for rough times. Unless you have the time and money to keep them in good shape I wouldnt buy a bike from walmart. Example mongoose was a good bike company until they let walmart buy them out. Now they are made of parts that when they break you cant fix them easily unless you buy expensive parts and tools, which makes it easier to buy a new bike. If you go to a bike shop and spend a bit more money on a nicer bike thats not ment to fall apart you will...

The first two bikes got returned because they were almost unrideable, & the third bike needed the handlebars tightening (after I fell off it!) the gears adjusting, the brakes tightening & having to phone one of their bike technicians to seek advise after giving up on keep returning them.
At least he was helpful, & guided me through how to adjust & tighten up what needed doing, BUT WHY AREN'T THEIR BIKES IN A ROADWORTHY CONDITION WHEN THEY LEAVE THE STORE????
I would advise anyone who isn't good with wrenches...

It only costed my roughly around $140 and it was on sale so i ended up paying only about $120. it was a green mountain bike and it works GREAT. i had thought it would be cheap and break fast but to my suprise it didnt ! its a mountain bike with all the gears and stuff. Later on, i found the SAME bicycle for around $200. I was really impressed on how well the bike works and how its not cheap like i expected it to be. Another bike that i had bought there was a little tricycle for my niece. I bought it around January it works perfectly...
