What happened to WalMart's community involvement?

Walmart - All locations, Nationwide —
WalMart used to be a company that valued community involvement. Its employees (associates) would be out front raising funds for various causes. I worked at WalMart in my younger years, and I remember standing out cooking hotdogs for the American Cancer Society. I've been very disappointed with WalMart's staff lately. This community involvement is gone, and most employees seem unconcerned if not right down unapproachable.
