"Wall-E is sure to be a summer smash!" Reviewers weren't sure whether this Pixar animated film would measure up to other successes such as Toy Story and Finding Nemo, yet are quite surprised leaving the theater at how much they really enjoyed it. Everyone likes the "cute robot fun," as Wall-E seems to be the only inhabitant left in the world, other than a cockroach. He's joined one day by another robot, then doesn't want to lose her and go back to his old bachelor ways. Viewpoints parents stress that very young children could become bored in the film because of the lack of dialogue, yet they also call Wall-E inspirational, noting that in the end, "love conquers all, even technology."

This afternoon I took my kids to see Wall-E and it was not a great call.

Cute but had me yawning

looking for something different, into movies that tell a great story, a Netflix subscriber

I'd been looking forward to seeing Wall-E, the latest animated film from the Pixar/Disney people. Surprisingly, I had a hard time staying awake for it. It'll probably keep the kids enthralled but it did less for me than I expected.

The story is relevant. Wall-E is a robot designed to scoop up trash and stack it in tall piles. He toils on a desolate and deserted Earth, with only a cockroach for a friend. While we expected Wall-E to be a cute movie about a robot, it was so much more. We saw the trailer of the robot putting a bra on his head, playing paddle ball, and propelling himself with a fire extinguisher, but there was so much more to this animated film that. And most of the bits we saw actually happened in the first twenty minutes or so of the film. I'm not all that surprised to find that Wall-E had a not-so-hidden message on the dangers of too much technology, but I was surprised to see a romance that tugged at my heartstrings. Wall-E was another cartoon animation film with a target audience of kids. However, a movie goer could delve further into hidden meaning than any child would. This was a movie that makes a person really think about where they are headed.
It starts out showing Wall-E the robot that has been alone for 700 years. He is the only robot left cleaning up the garbage left behind by the human race. While he has been alone he has started collecting things of interest. They also show little bits of newspapers and news stations showing a little bit of what exactly happened.

Pixar has done it again with Wall-E

an animation fanatic, into movies that tell a great story, a movie reviewer, a character lover

I went and saw Wall-E with my parents and I must say, Pixar just keeps getting better and better. One of my families favorite parts on Pixar films are the short animation film before each movie. The one for Wall-E was so freaking cute and I loved the starving bunny. We were cracking up so hard during the short film.

Plot: Wall-E is a cute little robot that is the last living thing on the planet, except for his pet bug (I think it's a cockroach). His soul purpose is to go around and clean things up. Then one day something happens to change all of this and Wall-E goes on a crazy ride!

WALL-E, despite what many are taking, is not about killing Walmart. It's not about electronics being evil. It's not about obesity (I find it silly people expect humans who've done nothing but sit in their chairs all their lives to not be large, and this is coming from a teen who is large herself. Honestly, I'd find it more offensive if everybody was thin because it looks prettier and has more cinematic glitz.) It's not even about cleaning up Earth (but I never saw the problem with recycling.) A decent kids film but lacks some pixar magic

I went to see Wall-E with my almost six year old and my almost eight year old, and their reviews were split. The oldest loved it and really got into the love story and the non-verbal communication tricks that Pixar used for a movie with about 200 words in it. The younger one was bored and ready to leave when she was done with her popcorn. She loved the characters but just couldn't get into the story. I think the lack of dialog, and the fact that Wall-E is the only character for a significant portion of the show were the issues. This movie was WAY too political to be billed as a kids movie! Even as an adult I was thinking, can it end?

Kids under 10 are not going to 'get' that big stores are 'bad' they just keep seeing the same advertisements over and over...they see enough of that. And I ahve come to really look forward to the colors of Pixar, but this fell flat I thought. I get it that it is supposed to look destraught, but it was down right depressing!

I want my $23 back.

Cute Robot Fun

I had the chance to watch a sneak preview of Wall-E earlier this week and really was surprised at the storyline. I was sure what it was about, except that it had a cute robot in it. This is the latest movie from Disney Pixar and it is really cute. I think kids of all ages will love it. The fun began before the movie with a short cartoon that I really enjoyed. It was about an adorable rabbit and a magician. Wall-E was terrible

I really did not enjoy this movie at all and I am usually very into animated movies. Half of this movie had no dialogue. The rest of this movie consited primarily of two words "EVA" and "WALL-E". I have no idea how this movie rated so high and won an award. This has become the new standard for me of the worst movie. My boyfriend and I recently saw a movie we deamed as " Bad, but not Wall- E bad". That shows the degree to which I disliked this movie. The pros that I do have are that it doesnt have anything offensive for children, and the quality of the animation is well done.

Fun For All Kids, Boy and Girls and Adults too

I loved this movie. My son wanted to see this so my Husband and I took him and we all loved it. I didnt take my daughter thinking she wouldnt like it but it ended up being great for boys and girls. I think Disney hit a home run with this movie. I also loved that humans became fat and couldnt walk. The way people are goning with overeating this was a needed message sent out. People need to meditate on what they eat and where it goes. This was a cute lovable movie with a deep message to all. I highly recommend everyone see this and fall in love with it for your own reasons.

I just completely fell in love With this movie! It is an awesome movie to watch with your family. Wall-E was about a adorable robot who was lonely and wanted a companion. I loved that his only friend was a roach until he met Eva. It was such a cute movie. I was so excitied when it came out and I diffenitly had to add it to my movie collection. i bought the 3-disc speacial.... it was a pretty desent deal and thinking about buying a few more copies for Christmas presents. I would most diffenitly recommend Wall-E for all ages, its a movie that everyone will enjoy.

I went to see Wall-e after hearing a co-worked rave about it -It was definitely one of the good decisions I have made recently with movies. I loved Wall-e and his huge mechanical heart. :) I think Pixar has done a fabulous job of a non-dialogue oriented movie in this case. Wall-e and Eva both mostly jus say each others name but their tone and gestures conveys all that there is to it.

Simple plot, engaging antics and a pet cockroach. What more can you ask for? I say go watch it today! Oh - keep the city clean ;)

I thought the trailers were funny and figured it would be a great movie for the whole family. The movie had a slow start or so I thought. It never got better. My husband fell asleep, my 10 year old got bored and my 6 year had to be taken out 15 minutes before the movie ended. She got figety and kept asking when the movie would be over. Outside of a few cute spots , the movie dragged on. I thought we were the only ones who felt this way until I heard other people complaining as we left.
