Wall-E Review

Review for WALL-E

As an adult, I have to say I didn't care for the movie, but I watched it with my grand children, ages 4 to 10. They loved it.

Wall-e is a small robot left on Earth. It's his job to clean the place. He has video's of people singing and dancing and romance and he watches this when he's in his home. Since he's been alone for so many years, he begins to really look at the videos and sees the romantic aspect of things. He wants a partner. (something beside the cockroach friend he has)

As Wall-e is cleaning things he come across a small plant. This means the Earth is trying to make a come back, to rejenerate itself. This also send off some sort of signal and a space ship lands. It send out a small robot to investigate the area. Of cource the robot is a female named Eva.

As you can imagine, Wall-e falls in love with her. His persistance kind of reminded me of a male dog following a female dog in heat. Almost desperate for the "something natural" but doesn't realize what it is at first.

Wall-e makes friends with Eva and gives her the plant. For some reason, she shuts down. Wall-e can't figure out what's happened but he plays the good guy by trying to protect her from the rain and the sun. When her people return and take her away, Wall-e tries to follow and rescue her.

This is where the humans come into the picture. Humans, through time have become incredibly fat, lazy and depend 100% on computers and robots. This is also where we learn that there are some pretty devious robots who want the plant for themselves. All the humans want the plant for is because they hope they can return home, to Earth, to start over.

In the end, boy robot gets girl robot. It was cute with a litle adult content but i guess they are teaching kids at an early age about the birds and the bees.

Good summer movie.
