Wow, when they say compare to Proactiv, they are not kidding! I did just that- I bought this system when I still had some Proactiv left over, just so I could test it myself. The verdict? I literally could not tell the difference between the two brands! Also, I got the same good results from the Walgreens product. But the price is so much better! This product is usually $12.99, and is on sale right now for $8.99! I will definately stock up!

I am a former proactiv user, who loved the product and what it did for my skin, but not the price. I had decided that it was well worth it though since it worked so well keeping my skin clear. When I saw the Walgreens Skin Essentials 3- Step Acne System, I was a little leary at first, but then decided I'd try it anyway, since it was half the price of proactiv. I used the Skin Essentials system for the first time about two weeks ago. The first time I used it my skin felt great and soft afterwards! I don't generally have sensitive skin, but the next day my entire face was bright red and my skin felt really tight and did not feel soft at all. Since then, my skin has completely peeled off and still feels tight and rough as if it may peel again, plus it STINGS. I think it was the repairing lotion that caused this because my face burned really bad for a long time after I put it on.
