W Retreat & Spa - Maldives - Fesdu Island, Republic of Maldives —
Our recent vacation at the W Maldives Resort and Spa was undoubtedly one of the best places on earth to take a vacation. The resort of made up for 25 bungalows around the perimeter of the 200 meter island, and 50 more bungalows over water. The private beaches, spa and pool were phenomenal, as were the attentive staff. A favorite was the huts scattered every 20 feet or so with cold drinks, ice cream, sunscreen, insect repellent...anything you might need all complimentary! We loved the breakfast buffet every morning as well. This is definitely a resort for people who want to relax in luxury. While the island has its own private DJ and club, with a maximum guest count of 150, it's not a place for a vacation packed with night life. Transport to the hotel is also only available via sea taxi, meaning unless you wish to pay the USD$275 transport fee multiple times, you do not leave the island during your stay. The Maldives is a top diving destination, and the hotel caters to divers of all experience levels. We completed our certification during our stay. The dives were excellent, so clear and colorful, with skilled dive masters. The crew on the dive boat attended to all our gear before and after the dive. Post-dive, we were served a latte with fresh tropical fruit on the way back to the hotel. All in all, a wonderful place to vacation for those who want total relaxation and luxury.
