Mattresses are a big investment, but a good night's sleep is important.  A few of my mattresses were very old and in great need of being replaced.  Since there was a special for 40% savings on a W Hotel mattress, I thought I would give it a try. I was concerned because I was buying it sight unseen but had gotten a good recommendation from a friend. I had been told not to order a pillowtop mattress as the pillow tends to go and then you have a not so comfortable mattress. I ordered it and a bedframe and received them (free shipping) in good time.  It was very comfortable, but as I have a few aches and pains I added my own inexpensive cushioning on top to take the place of the pillowtop. It was wonderful.  I then proceeded to order 2 more mattresses, but this time ordered the lower bedframes. I wished I had done that on the first order.  The mattresses are high and the lower frame helps those of us less tall people who would rather not "climb" into bed. Another suggestion is to thoroughly examine the mattress on arrival, because once you sign off on it then it is yours and there is no turning back.  These mattresses cannot be "flipped" to the other side as only one side is usable. It seems to me that that means that there is a bit less life for it to give if you cannot use the other side. This now seems to be more common, unlike the old mattresses that you could use in any direction. Firmness Firm but comfy. The old belief that a "firm" mattress is necessary for a healthy back is misunderstood. The mattress needs to afford good support, but comfort does not need to be sacrificed. A layer of soft padding over a good mattress is the best of both worlds. In fact, for those of us with a bad back, a hard mattress leads to pain and discomfort.

I have read many many reviews before I decided to purchase this mattress. According to those reviews, I knew that this W Hotel mattress was going to be a hit or a miss for me. I was hoping that it was going to be a hit since I was desperately in need of a new bed. I wanted a good bed that didn't have to cost me a fortune. I saw that there was a sale for this bed and having missed several sales for it in the past, I decided to jump on the train wagon. I had to decide between the plush or a pillowtop. Now, looking back, I feel that this decision is quite important for the consumer. For my train of thought, I decided to go for the plush and if it was too firm then I would add a pillowtop. I wish I went for the softer pillowtop version as I found the plush to be too firm for me. I added a pillowtop that I got from Overstock and that helped for a few weeks. After a little while I feel that the pillowtop is not for me as well. I usually am on my side and back and turning frequently unable to get comfortable.
