One of my kids' favorite toys!

5

The VTech Tote and Go Laptop Plus is one of my kids' favorite toys. My boy/ girl twins played with these VTech laptops at a friends house all the time so we decided to get them for Christmas last year. We got our twin boy the orange one and our twin girl the pink one. At 2 1/2 years old they didn't completely get it but they were entertained just pushing buttons. From the ages 3 1/2 to 4 years old, they have been able to understand the games and programs and they are actually learning too. It helps them with their number and letter recognition. Their favorite game is memory, which they are pretty good at! They love taking these Vtech laptops in our vehicle, especially on long car trips, because they fit perfectly in their laps. The sounds can be turned up or down (yay!) and it can be turned off so it doesn't wear the battery. The batteries we put in seem to last a long time too. I definitely recommend this Vtech laptop from age 2-6.

VTech Tote and Go laptop perfect for little learners

5

My son recieved this VTech Tote and Go laptop for his 2nd birthday. One of our favorite things about the Tote and Go laptop is how there were a few games and activities that he could do as a 2 year old, and many more for him to do as he grew older and learned his alphabet and numbers. There are plenty of activities that his 4 year old brother can do as well. There is an attatched mouse that is perfect size for little hands. It stows neatly underneath the laptop when not in use. It's simple enough for young children to use, and the buttons on the laptop are bright and chunky enough for their little hands. Another feature that we appreciate is the volume control, so it can be as loud or as quiet as the occasion calls. It's a great resource for parents to spend time with their kids on, and presented in a fun way that is also very educational. It's proven to be quite tough and stand up to typical toddler/preschool use. Will definitley be purchasing more VTech electronic toys for my kids in the future!

Stop your child from playing with ur laptop

I got this for a 2 year old nephew who would always play with my laptop when I was playing games on it and then somehow change the settings on the screen or keyboard and make it unusable for 5 min until i fix it. This is a cool little toy. Although I wish the screen was larger with more contrast, it makes cool noises that the child liked and the mouse was definitely a big hit. I would give this product 5 stars if the screen was larger. The idea and price of this laptop makes it a great gift and a must for the upcoming generation of our kids. Another downside is that this will only probably get one year worth of play before they move onto the next teir in kids learning laptops. Then again that is how the child world works. Use it for a year and then to goodwill or hand me down to the next child. All in all this toy was a success at keeping my nephew from playing with my laptop when i visited. You can even play the game where you click and the child will try to click too! Fun!

Cute Laptop

We bought this for my 3 year old son when he was just 2 years old and he wanted to play with Mommy's laptop and get into trouble.  This turned out to be the best thing for him to have.  Even though he didn't really know what he was doing, he still enjoyed banging on the keys and sitting next to Mommy working on "HIS" laptop instead of pounding on moms.  This gave my laptop a much needed break and I no longer had to worry about him breaking the computer.  After a few months, the battery cover broke off this little laptop though, so it's been pretty much useless.  We can't obviously put batteries in there safely anymore, so now it is just good for pretending.  The only downfall to this is that we found that it does get annoying after awhile, especially with a child that doesn't really know the right answers and such, it will keep saying Try Again about 1000000 times!  Overall, I say this is really great and fairly educational for any young preschooler.

VTech Tote and Go is great

5

My twins are only 30 months but they LOVE pretending to type on the keyboard like mommy. I had to buy another one because they fight over it constantly, and now their 1 year old baby sister tries to grab it from them. It's nice for car rides, or at home. I can't say how educational it is, or if the games are great because they mostly just turn it on and push buttons so it makes noise and the screen changes. The screen is a bit small, but I really don't see that as a big issue. VTech makes durable quality products, these have stood up to tons of abuse, being dropped out of the van, off the couch, and so much more and there are only a few scratches, but everything is still in working order. The only negative is having to replace the batteries, but that can't be helped, and it probably runs out so fast because they play them constantly. It's a great toy and will entertain them a few more years!

Disappointing play laptop

1

My mother gave this to my son last year, he was about 3.  He always wanted to play on our laptop of course so she thought he would like his own laptop.  It think they could make it a little more realistic looking for kids this age, it doesn't always have to be bright colors with flashing lights.  That's not what our laptop looks like and he's still wants to play with ours.  Also the mouse is so short, it doesn't allow for any real movement.  It does have alot of programs about letters and numbers, but my son already knows this letters and numbers so he didn't really need to learn from this laptop those things and I wouldn't say it was super easy for him to navigate through the games or programs either.  Definitely something I had to sit down with him and figure out myself and then teach him.  The screen is also sort of smallish and very simple that sometimes it's difficult to figure out what's going on.  Overall disappointing.

Wonderful Laptop for Preschoolers!

My daughter got the VTech Tote and Go Laptop Plus when she was two and a half.  She was a little young for it at that time and my just turned five year old son started playing with it.  He has really enjoyed it and loves playing all of the great educational games that the Go Laptop Plus has to offer.  He will sit and play with it for hours, which is a lot more than I can say for many other toys we have tried with him.  My daughter now just turned three years old, and she loves the Laptop now.  It is one of her favorite toys and she plays with it all the time.  She loves all of the colorful buttons and it has been great for her interest in learning her letters and numbers.  It is also very well built and has held up to her dropping it numerous times and dragging it around by the mouse.     There isn't anything I don't like about this toy and I would purchase it again.  It would make a great gift for a preschooler, boy or girl!

What a laptop.

I bought this for my daughter hoping that she would tkae to it and love it. Well my wish came true. I had ben trying to find away to get my daughter started on her math skills ad this product is perfect. In addition to the math there is reading exercises that she gets into ad just keeps going. There is a mousepad mechanism whic detaches and can be placed on the side of it. This is another toy by vtech thatis truley made for toddles and the reason I say that is because it is extremley durable but at the same time lightweight. My girl drops it pretty often ad it just keeps working. She has a bad habit of walking away from it and another great fature is that it has a automatic shut off so it doesn't drain the battery. Some of the games can be a little....no they can be ver noisy but it does have a very handy mute button so that one downfall can be takin care of very easily with the push of the button.

This laptop is educational and fun!

I was looking around for an educational toy for my 3 year old niece. As soon as I saw laptops like this one I knew that was what I wanted to get her. I chose this one because of its similarity to a regular computer with a mouse. She absolutely loved this laptop. She carried it around and played with it everywhere that she went. She was having a lot of fun, while learning at the same time. She enjoyed playing the games with us. One great thing about it was that there were games that were her learning level and games that were harder. She was able to play the harder games as she grew up and learned even more. So this laptop was a great buy for her since I bought it a few years ago. Once she gets too old for this laptop, she can pass it on to her younger sister for many more years of fun learning! She can even teach her younger sister just by playing with her with this laptop. I would definitely reccomend this.

Good learning tool for preschoolers

My son will be 3 years in about a month and he has just started taking an interest in his VTech tote and go laptop.  He was already fimiliar with all the letters of the alphabet and he enjoys the simpler games that involve pressing the key for a letter that is displayed on the screen or finding a hidden letter in a picture.  Many of the games are a little advanced for him right now, but I'm sure he'll grow into them over the next year.  It's great to have a toy that has games with different levels of difficulty and will be able to be used for a few years.  There are games for identifying letters, filling in missing letters in words, filling in a missing number in a sequence of numbers, choosing the higher of two numbers, identifying right and left, and much more. The other great thing about this toy is that my son is learning, but he's also having so much fun.  The games feature a monkey that my son finds hilarious.  The whole time he's playing he keeps yelling "Mama, a monkey!" every time the monkey is on the screen.  It's nice to see him excited about doing something educational.  It also seems pretty durable and hasn't had any problems from my one year old banging on the buttons whenever he gets ahold of it.
