Vonage claims it is a "pay as you go" service without complex contracts. Read the fine, fine print.... they charge you an early termination fee if you close within the first year. What's worse, this company doesn't bill you, they simply use the credit card information that's required when you open an account. What's worse worse, they don't even tell you about this early termination fee until seconds after they disconnect your service. I called to cancel early in the month. Not only did I get charged for the WHOLE month (no pro-rating), but they literally cut service the second I hung up with them and refused to provide me with service for the remainder of the month (that they charged me for). Absolutely rediculous service -- I now click on EVERY Vonage web ad several times, until I have costed them well beyond the $40 "early termination fee."
