I love the body style of this little car, and all of the nice little options you can choose.

I have a larger Volvo but I got to drive this little one as a loner when I took mine into the dealership for servicing.

The Volvo S40 likes to think of itself as a luxury car and thus commands a pretty high price. It's surely a nice car, but for a compact, it's too pricey and I think that's the reason you see so few of them on the road.

"Luxury" car is sort of brand-name issue rather than the actual luxury that is within...

I love my car
a person who enjoys quality, parent, willing to pay for quality, love to travel, daily driver, fuel-conscious, practical, dependent on daily vehicle

After being in a major accident in 2005 (rear-ended by a car doing 50 mph while I was stopped at a light), I needed a car that was super safe and affordable. I looked for 2 months before I found the S40. It had everything I was looking for...extra safety features, high ratings from the iihs, fun to drive, sorta sporty (for a Volvo), and most important I felt safe behind the wheel.

 When we decided to purchase the car, the dealer told us about the option to pick it up in Sweeden. Volvo paid for my husband and I to fly out to Goteburg, Sweeden, and drive our new car around while we are on vacation....

nice car, but little compared to other Volvos

Nice little car - had one for two months as a rental after being hit head on in our volvo wagon (no injuries, this is why we have volvos) I did find it a little small, but my favorite thing about volvos is that they are (generally) tanks, so I know I'm a little biased there.

 Overall, it was a nice car, but I wasn't sorry to go back. Reminded me a little too much of the Ford Focus.
