I have had back surgery and of course I hurt but my Dr. Prescribed me this declofonac cream it works wonders I have referred it to friend's they like it also.

My physical therapist recommended Voltaren Gel to help with my hand and wrist pain from carpal tunnel syndrome. It's easy to apply and doesn't have a strong odor. And it dries quickly on the skin. Unless your doctor says otherwise, don't be too stingy with applying it because a heavier application is what works for me. It doesn't do away with my pain and inflammation entirely but it does help reduce the problems, especially if I use it multiple times a day (if you do a lot of typing at work keep some at your desk and use it every day). My hands do feel better when I use it - less tingling and less soreness. I've tried it on my lower back as well for lumbar pain, but that didn't seem to have any effect. It's not expensive (ask your pharmacist if there's a coupon or rebate available - last time I renewed my prescription I got a discount from the maker) and my doctor had no problem prescribing it for me (it's prescription only). I haven't had any negative side effects.

Very effective, used it for about 6 months before knee replacement, best thing i tried including celebrex and any other cream or gel. although it will not take pain away completely it allowed me to get to sleep at night when the pain was the worst. I highly recommend it!

My body has been treated in the ER so many times that I'm willing to give back by donating my entire body for medical research.  With that said, it makes me a perfect candidate for Voltaren Cream; I am extremely amazed what this cream does considering how bad my overall health has been.  As soon as the cream is applied, you feel pain free immediately. What I have experienced, is the cream works anywhere on the body.  Not just for knees.  I've applied it to my lower back and with my recent shoulder impingement, you'd never know you had a problem.  Mind you, even though you feel pain free, make certain your primary physician knows all your suffering with.  Old and new problems, it does need to be checked. I was prescribed Voltaren Cream for my lower back because I have two titanium cages that gives me a lot of discomfort.  Just recently I hurt my arm and used the cream and like magic, the pain immediatly disappears.  For many years I've been taking pain medication.  For many years I've been feeling like rigamortus has set in until finally, an anesthesiologist took over my pain and prescribed " Voltaren Cream".  I was able to not only feel pain free, but lower my intake on pain medication and to me, that is a mircale in itself. * My medical diagnosis- Chronic pain, Osteoperosis, shoulder impingement. Shoulder tendonitis and althritis.   Metal in lower back and left thigh from hip fracture. Degenerative disc disease, Left foot drop.  Female, age 46.

Last summer, I stepped off a stool at a condo we were staying in on the beach. It was a very tall stool, and I somehow ended up twisting my knee on my way off of the stool. My knee was so swollen, and it was very painful. I thought it would get better, but after a couple of weeks of it hurting worse every day and swelling more and more, I went to the doctor. He referred me to an orthopedic surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon eventually told me that the only treatment was rehab, (3 times a week, yuck!), and time. Oh yeah, and to stay off of my knee and to keep it propped up higher than my heart. (No problem with that since I just have four sons to raise, a house to keep clean, laundry to do, meals to cook, etc...) Okay, back to the subject at hand..sorry about that little tirade I went off on!. My orthopedic surgeon also prescribed cortisone shots (OUCH), anti-inflamitory oral medication, oral pain meds, and I had to wear a brace to hold my knee in place. Well, I don't like oral pain medications because I don't like the way they make me feel. I can't take them and still be alert. They make me sleepy, and some even make my stomach bloat and make me very nauseated. When I told my doctor the problems I was having with the oral pain meds, he gave me a prescription for what I now consider a WONDER DRUG.  That "wonder drug" is Voltaren Gel. It's a topical gel that comes with small sheets of paper that have dosages marked on them. You squeeze the amount of mgs. prescribed by your doctor, from the tube onto the paper, so that you get the correct amount. Then you transfer the ointment from the sheet to the affected area of your body, and rub it in I'm telling you it helped my pain more than I ever would have thought it could or even hoped it would. It also helped the swelling! It made an incredible difference in the quality of my everyday life. I was able to get around so much better than before I started using it. I was miserable before I began using the Voltaren Gel. I'll go ahead and tell you that it's expensive, but it's so worth it! I really never understood exactly what was wrong with my knee as X-Rays and an MRI didn't show a fracture or tear. They said maybe there was a tear that was too small to see on an MRI,and it would just take time and rehab to heal. All I know is it was very swollen and very painful. It took over six weeks to heal. I would have went nuts without my Voltaren Gel. From what I understand, Voltaren Gel is most often used to treat arthritis, and other forms of joint pain. It contains diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs). Diclofenac works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. Voltaren Topical Gel is used to treat joint pain in the hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, or feet caused by osteoarthritis. This medication may not be effective in treating arthritis pain elsewhere in the body. I don't know about other parts of your body but I promise you it works on knees. I told my mom, who has pretty bad arthritis in her hands, about my experience with Voltaren Gel, and now her doctor prescribes it for her. Now she's just as sold on it as I am.  If you have osteoarthritis, or joint pain from an injury, ask your doctor about Voltaren Gel. Maybe it's just what you have been needing without even knowing it. P.S. It's now available in Canada without a prescription.

I am so tired of suffering with Osteo and RA.  I'm not able to take an oral med due to stomach problems.  I've tried menthol and capsasin creams but they sure didn't help me like this has.  When the Dr wrote out the script I thought to myself "Oh great another med that isn't going to work"  Later that night my feet and ankles were so bad I couldn't walk so I tried this new gel...with in 40 minutes I was arthritis pain free after 1 use!  I didn't notice any tingling or anything...it was as if I was appling a lotion.  The scent was rough at first sort of like bug spray but after it dried on my skin (around 2 mintues) it was a pleasant scent, not mediciney.  Not even my pain meds work this well.  I am amazed!

I have very painful Arthitis, I have had it for over 10 years and sometimes it can just stop me in my track and it feels like life is just passing me by.  I have tryed so many differant kind of over the counter pain releiver and so many prescrition medications.  It had gotten to the point when I was pretty much living off Harsh Narcotic Pain medications to help control the pain.  Arthitis has taken over 76% of my body. I was desparate for something, anything to help.  So my doctor Perscribed a strong Anti-Infamitory medication called Diclofenac ( Genaric name is Voltaren0. At first I was not sure if the Diclofenac because I was still having pain from the arthritis but it was getting a little better.  Then I had to stop taking the Diclofenac because I had to have surgery due to it being a Anti-inflamitory which can cause unwanted bleeding.  I went 5 days with out the Declofenac and the pain came back full force.  I had just has surgery and that did not even feel as bad as my joints and muscles.  At first I thouhgt well great here we go again, but then I was allowed to go back on my Declofenac and with in 2 days the arthitis pain was cut in half.  I started to notice as long as I took it twice a day the pain was becoming bearable and I was starting to have good days, like walking with my kids, playing in the creek and just getting out of the house more. I was starting to live again. I have had 6 surgerys since I started the Declofenac and had to stop it each time, and each time the pain came back so bad. But the Declofenac stopped it all over again.  Decolofenac is only a anti-imfmaitory and not a narcotic so you feel no effects from it until you reliaze that the pain has gotten so much better.  I like finding a medication that doesn't effect my mental ability or corrdination in any way but helps with the pain so much.  Declofenac is so much better than any Narcotic I have ever taken.

I am a sufferer of multiple joint injuries, plus suffer from both Lupus and Fibromyalgia. My husband's doctor first informed us of Voltarin and we tried it on his joints. He has 2 artificial knees, 1 artificial hip and one artificial ankle. A should is next to come. He is in constant pain from all of his joint injuries and was getting no substantial relief from his current anti-inflamitory prescription, so we asked our doctor if there was anything additional that we could try. She gave us some samples of Voltarin Gel. We figured that it was worth a try and took them home. When we tried it on him that night and he felt a difference within a half hour, we were very surprised. We were allowed to re-apply the medication up to four times daily. What a different in his pain levels. He raved enough about it that I asked for samples the next time I went in to see the same doctor!
