Loved the 2002 Passat, just leased a 2008 Passat wagon

My 2002 Passat hasn't been trouble free, but compares well to a Japanese make that I had a few years back.  Smooth, responsive engine (2.8V-6) that gets decent mileage (18 town / 28 hwy) and has been reliable.  Changed the belts, water pump, plugs, wires at 110,000 and had to change both front CV axles...

Bought my Passat brand new 5 years ago and have a love-hate relationship with it. It's a dream to drive (love the turbo-kick) and a super-comfy ride, but it's in the shop a lot and boy, are the parts pricey! I find excuses to drive.

It looks sweet. It drives great. It's stylish. The interior can't be beat. The features are useful. It runs great. Volkswagen fends for you, the customer. I love this car so much that I look for excuses to drive now, even with gas prices high. This thing absolutely grips to the road and rides so smoothly. I love feeling the engine purr and I'm completely sold on German engineering.

My VW Passat has over 75,000 miles and drives like the first day I drove it off the lot (except of course for some body damage...not the car's fault!!) I would recommend the Make and Model!!

This car breaks down a lot and is expensive to maintain. The parts are really expensive too.
