Vizio - VX37L Television Review Summary

Those who are looking for a high definition television set but don’t want to take out a second mortgage to purchase one should consider the Vizio VX37L Television. This television set is liked by most reviewers, and they cite several reasons such as the fabulous picture, built in tuner for use with an antennae, and low price. The Vizio VX37L Television is “Great for the Money and Stylish to Boot”, and many consider it one of the few great buys remaining in the realm of high definition television. IncredibleStephen says, "I have received better HD picture quality with this television than I saw on many name brand expensive models." Drdrewphd says, "The sound quality needs a bit of improvement, unless you purchase a soround sound system." Some reviewers point out that dark colors blend slightly on the screen and that the screen takes extra care to clean, but the handful of cons is easily outweighed by the many pros, making the Vizio VX37L one of the better Television Sets for those wanting high definition quality at a low price.

The Vizio 37" 720p is an outstanding tv for the money. I did many months of research before deciding on which tv I wanted to purchase and I have not been disappointed. I have received better HD picture quality with this television than I saw on many name brand expensive models that only had one HDMI port. When paired with an HD signal or an upconversion DVD player, this tv truly has a great picture. As with any LCD television, a normal cable signal will not look as sharp as with a regular tube television, but the HD picture quality is amazing. The only drawback I have is that with a regular cable... review »

I NOW OWN FOUR OF THESE SAME TVS AND THEY ARE OUTSTANDING AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY TROBLE WITH ANY OF THEM.

THE VIZIO 32 IN LCD HDTV MODEL # VX32LHDTV10A HAS A OUTSTANDING LCD  PICTURE WITH GREAT SOUND.

THIS IS ALSO THE LOWEST PRICE HDTV WITH THE HIGHEST RATING THAT I COULD FIND. I LOOK AND READ ABOUT ALL THE HDTV'S AND THIS WAS THE ONE THAT ALWAYS CAME OUT ON TOP OF THE LIST FOR EVERY THING.

EVERYONE IN MY HOUSE HAS THE SAME MODEL VIZIO TV. I BOUGHT THE 1ST. TWO  EIGHT MONTHS AGO  FOR  BIRTHDAY GIFTS FOR MY KIDS, AND  NOW MY WIFE  FOR A  CHRISTMAS GIFT IS GETTING ONE.  I JUST GOT A GREAT...

I'm very pleased with the Vizio.  Great picture quality and also really like all the extra hdmi inputs that it has.  From going to one name-brand company for all my electronics for 13 yrs.  to Vizio I'm Very PLEASED!!!  Couldn't beat the price. Shopped around for months and finally bought this one.  Got more inches for lot less.

I bought a 37 inch Vizio TV for my fiance in Dec. of 2007.  By April of 2009...it does not work anymore!  Of course it was over the year warranty!  We called the company and they would not do anything for us.  They were very rude on the phone to us.  They wouldn't even try to help up figure out what was wrong with it.

I got one of these for Christmas a couple years ago. Brother got the Sony, dad got the Panasonic, and I got this. lol. But honestly, Im not complaining. It is a great tv, and for the price. It was a deal. It may not have the clarity or sharpness of a Sony or Panasonic but it does have a good clear picture.

It can look a little pixely at times, but not too often. The HD Quality is comparable to major name brands. I use ours with an LG Blu ray player, and the picture quality is Great.                                                                                                                             ...

The Vizio VX37L HDTV replaces the company's last 37-inch LCD set, the L37 HDTV but not much has changed. Vizio revamped the feature set and modified the cosmetics, going for a more compact cabinet and a white backside. The VX37L HDTV demonstrates the virtue found on many other Vizio flat-panel sets we've reviewed: perfectly acceptable picture quality and style for a price that's tough to beat.As we mentioned, the Vizio VX37L HDTV sports a coat of kitchen-friendly white, but it's visible only from the back and sides. The company also rounded off the corners of the compact panel, so overall, the...

After losing our 32" old tv to lightning, we looked everywhere for a new set.  The choices are daunting; Plasma, DLP, LCD, too many!  I found that Plasma burns out, DLP has to replace the bulb at $200 every year, so the LCD won me over.  Seeing the 37" in Costco for under $800 I debated between that and the 42".  The set grows in the home away from the store and fits well.  I read about sound problems, but we have had none.  Speakers are in the front, so no complaints from the kitchen from the old set's side speakers.  The only issue is that some channels have an orange bright tint, which...

We weren't planning on buying a new television, but our old one went kablooey on us, so we had no choice.  We had to be budget-conscious.  After looking at 4 different stores and numerous tvs, we decided on this set for not only the price, but the picture quality.   We really enjoy this tv.  We formerly had a huge rear-projection tv, so my husband was very skeptical about getting a 37", but he was sold once we got it home.  It was very easy to set up.  We don't yet had HD service, but can't wait to see what it looks like when we do!  I would recommend this set to friends and family and... review »

We just love this TV!  We are avid DVD watchers and the increased quality with the upscan is great!  It also has a built in tuner that allows us to get the HD stations over the airwaves with our antenne (sure beats paying for cable!).  The price was right, at Sam's Club.  We even talked my parents into purchasing one.  The one down side is the screen cleaning, spray on suntan lotion got on the screen and I had to pay $10 for a solution and cloth to clean it (not horrible to maintain a good TV, but for the cost conscious a bit pricy).

So, I did alot of research and Vizio is made by a larger , more well-known comapny and the quality  shows.  It has a very sharp picure and the sound from the tiny little speakers is truly great!   The remote has every function you will ever need, including a sleep function which was important since the tv is in our bedroom.  The only complaint I have is that on some things, not all, the blacks kinda blend a bit.  It is not a complete wash out, but it is slightly noticeable.

I finally decided to get rid of my big old clunky TV and chose the Vizio - VX37L Television.  What a wonderful decision.  This television provides color like you wouldn't believe, takes up a fraction of the space of my previous tv, and is very easy to program.  I am now about to buy a second one for another room in my house, and of course it will be the Vizio - VX37L Television.

What a great TV for the price! I got it refurbished off of woot.com and it has been great. The HD picture quality is phoenominal. The problem with dark colors blending is only with a regular TV signal. And if you're sitting too close, the pixelation can be bad, but the screen is big enough to sit back and enjoy it. Plenty of connections and inputs. I can't review the sound, since I have a home theater receiver hooked up to it.

Vizio is pretty new to televisions. this is one of the few brands actually manufactured in the united states. vizio has really low contrast...but u cant really tell unless u have another tv right next to it to compare it to. its a nice television for those looking to not spend a whole lot of money...and who want to upgrade to HD programming to get a better picture then what their currently viewing.

I had some experience with Vizio, having a computer monitor by the company, so I wasn't as wary of buying this "off-brand" HDTV. I couldn't be happier. I saved several hundreds dollars over comparable Sony, Phillips. etc/ and got features and picture quality every bit as good. Set up was easy and quick, operation is easy. and picture quality is top rate.
