Vizio - VW37L HDTV10A Television —

HDTV -- Hey! Do Try Vizio!!

The new VIZIO HDTV by Toshiba is an absolute piece of art!  After my previous TV (a 32-inch Sharp) could no longer stay on without only showing a white streak across the screen, I knew it was time to get a new television set.
My family and I checked the local ads of all the retailers, comparing price and brand at Circuit City, Best Buy, Sears -- all the stores.  After we knew what we were looking for, we went into the stores and checked out the different models in person.  Comparing the same picture on all different versions and sizes, it was clear that brands one would expect to be of a higher quality were showing sub-par pictures.  For instance, Samsung LCD TVs were very blurry by comparison.  When we first saw the VIZIO at Wal-Mart, it stood out amongst all the others.  For one thing, when the TV is on, the VIZIO logo on the front lights up a bright white (later turning into a dim orange when turned off).
The surface of the LCD TV is glare-free which is just as important when the TV is turned off as it is when it is turned on.  When the television is turned on, one of the many new features you will immediately experience is the additional channels the HDTV picks up.  Without having to connect any additional wires or subscribe to any services, the television's satellite automatically adds to its memory HD channels of your usual broadcast stations as well as HD channels your previous television couldn't receive or display.
For the local, "un-HD" channels, you always have the choice of viewing the program in wide, panoramic or normal viewing formats.  The HD channels come with a crisp, clear, more vibrantly colored display.  In addition, the HDTV channels also come with a TV Guide-like information display that allows you to scroll the channel over the next 24 hours or so and preview different synopsis of the programs to be aired.
For the computer savvy (and computer ignorant alike!), with one very simple VGA Replacement Cable, anyone can hook up their PC or laptop to the television and with one easy push of the clearly marked RGB button, transform the display on the television to that of your computer -- an excellent tool to use to view files on your computer or to give (power point) presentations to a larger crowd.
The television also comes with wall-mounting capablities, removable base, remote control, CC, V-chip as well as HDMI and AV inputs.

HDTV: Honestly Declared Television Victory!!

The 37" HD Vizio LCD TV is truly a value for the price you pay.  A 27 year guarranty.  A beautiful flat screen, glare-free surface.  Computer monitor capabilities.  TV Info Guide.

It's such a value and great brand that I literally saw one man buy SEVEN 42" HD VIZIO TVs two days later from the same Wal-Mart!

Thank you for the reply/comment! :) I'm glad you're enjoying your TV too. We subsequently got an RCA TV which was subpar in every way and didn't last long at all!

I have to agree 100% with this review. I did the same thing before making my HDTV choice. I first educated myself on the technical aspect of HDTVs, including both LCD & plasma pros & cons. Then like the reviewer, once I knew the technical aspects I went comparative shopping, putting them to the ultimate test...that is simply the picture quality, features, benefits & price.

Anyway, way to Vizio! Just don't let all great reviews you guys have been getting, let you get complacent like some of the "big guys" have. ;-)
