I purchased a 42" Vizio hdtv about 3 months ago and was pretty apprehensive at first, but have been pleasantly surprised with the quality.  Vizio is not a well-known name brand, but I am very happy with my purchase at a very reasonable price - - well below the price of all the competitors, but still has the same or better quality than most.
