Vita-Mix 5000 Variable Speed Blender Review Summary

The Vitamix is a blender on steroids. One reviewer says that the Vitamix is the only kitchen blender that actually pulverizes ice. If you love smoothies, the Vitamix is perfect according to kitchen appliance reviewers. Even some commercial smoothie companies use the Vitamix. You can also make homemade peanut butter, soups, salsas and even ice cream. What fun! Vitamix is expensive, but kitchen gadget lovers say that the Vitamix is definitely worth every penny.

The one word that could be used to describe this blender is "AWESOME".  There is absolutely nothing this unit cannot do.  Able to leap tall buildings, just about.  It has so much ommph, you can even make soup with it.  The unit makes great smoothies, malts, you name it. It has enough gumption that...

Okay, I went to the State Fair of Texas with a friend of mine and after seeing the demonstration and tasting the wonderful examples Jeff Thompson made with this remarkable machine, we were both sold. She decided to buy a refirbished VitaMix and soon enough, it showed up at the house. We couldn't wait... review »

This product blends a variety of foods: fruits, vegetables, ice, grains, cheese, etc.  It can make smoothies, sauces, chop, shred, and even make dough. It also blends popcorn into corn meal or wheat berries into wheat flour. I use it every day. It is a great way to hide vegetables in sauces, smoothies, or doughs.  It is very powerful and has no trouble blending all foods.  It has a variable setting that ranges from 1 (for soft foods) to 10 (for hard or frozen foods). It also has a high setting that blends powerfully and quickly. It has an attachment for blending most foods and then another...

My Aunt gave me her old Vitamix many years ago.  This was when they were made very heavy and the blender jar was stainless.  Back then that machine was amazing.  What was wierd though is I never knew I owned a Vitamix.  I would go to home shows and in Costco and see the demonstrations and thought "wow, what a great machine".   Mine had different buttons on it, actually I believe it was a turn knob with an on/off switch.   I dug mine from the back of the counter and looked at it and discovered I actually owned one of those amazing machines I kept seeing.  The next home show I went to I...

I bought a Vitamix a few years ago at Costco. The only mistake I made was waiting to long to buy it. It was by far one of the best purchases I have ever made. We have been eating much more fruit and veg.

This is easy to use and can help in preparing so many things. Even healthy recipes taste good to those who shun them.

So far there are no cons.

My husband insists I add that it also makes great frozen Margaritas, Daiquiris, etc.

Most blenders are in the 300 or 400 watt range; this one is 1100 watts. Comes with two containers and blades. One for dry blending like wheat or nuts and the other for everything else. This is what smoothies are all about. The only blender I have ever used that totally pulverises ice without leaving any chunks. In fact I found this used in some of the stores in the mall that make drinks like Orange Julius.

Choose the Vita MIx blender for a new healthy lifestyle.  Using the Vita Mix, you can create your own healthy meals from fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and almost any other ingredient you can imagine.

After watching the Vita Mix presentation several years ago, I purchased the product and have had no regrets.  I love making my own peanut butter out of regular and honey roasted nuts.  I know that there are absolutely no preservatives or addatives in the peanut butter I make and I feel confident consuming the product and providing as an extra treat for my pets.  Yes, my dogs absolutely love the...

I have had my Vitamix 3600 for at least 25 years, if not longer.  The most recent model is a 5200, more powerful and attractively built.  I'd love this new version, but my old Vitamix is lasting and lasting!  We use it as our primary blender, for cooking as well as making drinks. Our family favorite use is to make smoothies with frozen fruit and ice cubes and our favorite add-ins.

I also use the Vitamix to make hot and tasty soups. My husband is a gardener and we often have an abundance of those great home grown tomatoes.  I will put them in the Vitamix along with seasoning and maybe a little...

I have had my Vita-mix for over 10 years. It is a work horse and can blend, chop, almost anything! One container I use for hard items (like coffee beans, herbs, making bread dough) and the other container (wet container) I used for fruit smoothies, green smoothies, salad dressings, ice cream, sorbet, you name it. It has a 2 hp motor and has worked flawlessly for years and I use it on a daily basis. This one item can replace many of your other kitchen appliances.

I saw this blender at costco and decided to buy it on a whim. Most people are shocked at the price tag (a good $400), but its surprisingly worth it. Plus, the blender comes with a 7-year warranty, something you certainly won't find with other brands. Its great for people who are busy and need quick meal ideas. You can make soups, smoothies, ice creams, etc, all in a matter of minutes.

We purchased a Vitamix Blender several years ago after watching the demonstrations of it for a couple of years at the New Mexico State Fair.  My husband was convinced it would help us to be more healthy eaters.  Although it is a great product, I'm not sure it has helped us become more healthy eaters!

At first, of course, we used it and tried various recipes, but it seems that the novelty wore off rather quickly.  The blender is super-powerful and I don't think I could easily go back to a regular blender after using this one.  It's almost scary how powerful it is.  It does do a tremendous...

The Vita-Mix 5000-My favorite friend. Oh my goodness what a wonderful machine. Everything you have ever heard about this mixer is TRUE. Makes wonderful smoothies then makes delicious hot soups.  This mixer makes making smoothies and cleaning up the mess so easy that you don't mind using the machine. You are aware of the machines we buy then never use  because they are so hard to clean.  It's so much easier to make a sandwich and forget thinking healthy.  But this mixer is fast and easy. I have had my machine for years and it still works great. No problems at all.  Last month I decided to try...

I'd never give up my Vita-Mix 5000. It's great for everything. When I make bread, I grind my own flour from wheat berries, old-fashioned oats, almost any whole grain. I also use it to make fruit smoothies, whole vegetable juices (my favorite is carrot, celery, beet, apple, spinach, orange juice and ice!) , margaritas, gin gimlets, soup, just about anything you can imagine! I have ice cube trays that make huge ice cubes. This machine chews them into slush in less than a minute and it even chops up celery without the strings getting stuck in the blades. The only drawback for me is the noise but I...

I have owned several blenders before I purchased my VITAMIX but none of them lasted very long due to their poor quality.

I purchased this one about five years ago and it is easy to use and performs outstandingly. I have yet to find anything that it cannot do other than clean my house.

It is a comercial quality blender that comes with  two containers, dry and wet, will grind meat for meatloaf to any consistency desired, grind wheat or other grains for flour and then you can actually combine all of the ingerdients in the container to make your bread or anything else in one container. All that you have...

Our Vita-Mix is 7 years old and we use it at least weekly.  It is hard to break, and even if you do break it, they will fix it. Right after we bought it, I managed to burn out the moter (totally my fault!) and we call the company.  Right away they sent us the part we needed and an install guide, free of charge.  I took me less than 2 minutes to install the part. Most people will not have to do that because there is a safety on it that turns the machine of when it reaches a certain temperature.  You just have to let it cool for 15 minutes and then you can use it again.

I use it to make fruit...
