Red, bloodshot eyes are not the most fun thing to have. Not only are they embarassing, but they are easy to get, too. It takes only one sleepless night, one exposure to allergens, or one speck of something to land in your eye.
For me, its the sleepless nights. I suffer from insomnia, so I usually have only a few hours of sleep...which isn't always restful. So, every morning when I wake up, no fail, my eyes are red. It seems that my insomnia has gotten worse over the years, and despite my use of sleep aids occasionally, and melatonin nightly, my eyes got redder. I knew then that it was noticeable and I had to do something.
I turned to Visine. I always have a bottle of Visine, just for redness from irritation or dry eyes. I started using it in the morning and it made my eyes white. They looked 100% better and made me look more awake and ready to face the day.
Since I always have red eyes when I wake up, I started using the Visine daily and I continue to do so. The packaging does say that overuse may cause more eye redness (rebound effects), but after a few years of daily use I still have not had this happen. I know so because if I sleep for a long time (weekends, etc.) I dont have red eyes when I wake up.
Visine Advanced Relief works great for me. I like it better than the original because it has a lubricant in it which soothes my dry, tired eyes. I now buy it in the 2+2 package from Costco because it is much cheaper than the 3+ dollars you would spend on one 1oz. bottle in the store.
As soon as the drop enters my eye, it feels cool and refereshed. Within a matter of seconds, all redness is gone and my eye is it's normal white again. The packaging says 1-2 drops up to 4 times daily, but I find that one drop in each eye upon waking is sufficient.
If you suffer from insomnia, are a late partier, have allergies, etc, Visine Advanced Relief is for you. It works quickly and effectively without side effects. It may be a little expensive, but if you have red eyes like me, you will know that the price tag means nothing.
