I purchased parts from orileys auto parts. I returned the parts they were to be put back on the card. The card was compromised they said. So I lost all my money. I called vanilla gift card and talked to a guy that said I would only get 22 dollars back and I'm out the rest of the money. I said I want to talk to a manager he hung up on me. I will never buy another gift card again from vanilla.

We were sent a Vanilla Visa gift card for Father's Day, and it never arrived, when we called Vanilla Gift cards they told us that someone had claimed it already, but we are 100% sure we did not receive it. They were not helpful at all and refused to assist us with the problem or the sender. I highly recommend staying away from Vanilla E-gift cards, and I am not the only one who has had issues with them, just look up their reviews and you will read mostly bad, 97% were negative reviews check for yourself.

I was given a $100 Vanilla Gift card from my dad for my birthday. Within a week of receiving it, someone from FL (I live in TX) stole the info and used it to pay their utility bill, but I didn't know about it until a couple of months later because I hadn't used it yet. Once I figured out it was stolen I immediately called and tried disputing it. For some reason I wasn't receiving the form and after 2 months I FINALLY received it. about 2 weeks later I received a letter in the mail saying that there was nothing they could do because I didn't file the dispute within 2 months of it being stolen, even though I didn't know it was stolen until after. Everyone I talked to was super sweet and helpful except the supervisor. She was rude and could care less that my dad's hard earned money was stolen and just kept saying they weren't going to help me. DO NOT PURCHASE THEIR CARDS!!!

My friend offered me a $150 vanilla card last year on my birthday and to this date I have not been able to use the funds in it. Their customer service is the worst ever, as they do not know anything about their products or they act as if they do not know and they are not helpful at all. This is the perfect scam: one buys a card to offer it as a present as it was my case, and when I called them to inquire as to why I cannot use the funds, they said the card is blocked and nobody has been able to unblock it until now. I feel sorry for my friend who lost 150$, and for the fact that I wasted so much time in calls and letters to their 'so called' compliance department, and customer service, as all they keep on saying is that they cannot do anything about it. If this is not highway robbery, what is it? If you value your wallet, please avoid the vanilla card at all cost. Disappointed customer

I use the Vanilla Visa card quite frequently. I use this card because it is very simple to purchase, load and use. The card does cost $4.95 which is a little more expensive than some other prepaids but is still cheaper than using my other bank issued credit cards. This is a one time loadable card. I simply purchase the card, register it online and it's ready to use. When my balance reaches zero, I simply throw it away. I have never had an issue with declined transactions or over the limit fees, as I can only spend what is available on the card. The Vanilla Visa is accepted anywhere that Visa is accepted. I have used the card to pay bills online and in person. I often use the card for online purchasing, it is safer to use and keeps my personal information from getting into the wrong hands. I have found this to be a very useful prepaid card and will continue to use it in the future.

I received a Vanilla VISA card as a gift and was thrilled with it! It was such a nice, flexible gift! I loved that it was VISA branded so I could use it anywhere VISA was accepted, including McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, the grocery store, etc. I used mine everywhere! The only place I didn't use it was the gas station because they put a hold of up to $75 on the funds on your card and you have to wait for the transaction to settle before the difference is released back to be used. It's annoying and unnecessary so I don't bother using it at the gas station. It's super easy to check your balance so you know exactly how much you have to spend. I mainly used their website but you can use their automated service number as well. There is a fee to activate the card so it's wise to plan for that if you're the giver. The recipient pays no fees to receive or use the card. The card is also not reloadable as are some prepaid cards. So you can't add additional funds after the initial gift runs out. I was very happy with my card and thought it was a fabulous gift! I definitely recommend it!

There should be negative starts.. They get a -10 from me Advice? DO NOT purchase these cards. I have purchased 3 defected cards that were apparently "packaged wrong" as per vanilla visa customer service. They were all $150.00 cards and I had to go out of my way and have the cards/receipts faxed to their "headquarters" so that they can figure out whats wrong with it and send a new one. This is supposed to only take 7-10 days and its been a month for one of the cards and I cannot find out any info about whats going on. This HORRIBLE SCANDALOUS company owes me $300.00 and I am going to have to get a lawyer involved since I have not heard from them and there is no way of contacting the headquarters...This card is NOT worth it...I have never had a problem with the vanilla mastercard or american express..
