Virgin Mobile Review Summary
If you’re somebody who doesn’t spend a whole lot of time on the phone, but still wants a cell phone, our reviewers think that you may want to consider Virgin Mobile. Our reviewers loved not having to sign a contract, many preferring the Virgin Mobile pre pay plan. “I like the flexibility that it gives me by allowing me to choose the amount of $ I want to add.” The primary complaint about Virgin Mobiles service is that customers didn’t like how they lost minutes that they had not used up, and would prefer that the minutes roll over into the next month. Also, some had problems with their Virgin Mobile phones breaking or malfunctioning and not being able to recover purchased extras.
cost-conscious
If you don't want to sign long term contracts and want great phone service for low cost this is the cellular phone company for you. You get your own phone number and 24 hour access to their excellent customer service phone number. — Their customer service number is toll free 1-888-322-1122 and costs you nothing to call IF YOU CALL FROM OTHER THAN YOUR CELL PHONE. Calling toll free numbers from your cell phone costs you a per minute charge so I call from my home land line or a phone booth. — They offer several plans including a few different pay per call…

wants value for money, reliant on my phone, looking for durability, expecting good, fair service, cost-conscious, into finding great deals online, not rich, dependent on my phone
I just purchased my virgin mobile phone a couple of weeks ago and I don't have a bad thing to say about it. It was very easy to activate and program my phone for one, and I was able to pick a monthly plan without signing a 1-2 yr contract. You can also sign up online to get bonus airtime. There are just so many perks to having this service. The plans are inexpensive and they have plans to fit everyone's needs. And there is no monthly bill, you just set up a credit card, or get top-up cards from the store, and make sure you have enough money in your account to cover the monthly cost of the…

I have been using Virgin Mobile for almost a year, after having Tracfone for about 8 months, which was on the heels of having AT&T for 12 years. Virgin Mobile is hands down the best service for someone who, like me, has "been there done that" with the big cell phone companies and just wants cell phone service for the occasional phone call and to check email. I pay on average about $100 a year now, down from about $400. I use the Super Slice phone and can text, check email, and of course, make phone calls on it. Since I don't live with my phone attached to my ear like some folks, this is…

My cell phone was stolen. I contacted Virgin Mobile by phone, suspended service and bought a new phone. The new phone was a Kyocera Slider. It cost $79.99 + tax (total $86) My son has one. It has a camera, MP3 player, and will record short videos. — My phone arrived a few days later. BUT IT DID NOT HAVE THE MEMORY CHIP REQUIRED TO OPERATE THE EXTRA FEATURES! So, No MP3, No camera, No Video! — The kyocera handbook (pg 9) stated the memory chip was included. The Virgin Mobile web site did NOT say that anything was not available. There was just an empty bag stating that the chip was…

I use a prepaid phone not becuase I have bad credit (I have excellent credit), but I use a cellphone only occasionally, when I need to make a call and am not near a landline phone. I'm not one of these people who just lives on their cellphone, or uses it instead of a landline. For me, prepaid is the way to go. The minutes keep accumulating, and I never come close to using them up. I was with Cingular for a while, "customer service" was the pits, and the cost kept going up. I switched to Virgin, and now pay only $5 per month for all the cellphone service I need…

We bought the Kyocera phone from Virgin Mobile as a pay as you go phone for emergencies at first. We spent $19.99 to buy it and $20 to have on it for calls and we were obligated to 'top up' every three months. So we spent around $20 every three months for this cell phone. Calls cost 10 cents each minute and we were just real frugal about them. When we had more money, we spent more when we wanted. Today we top up each month for $20 and we have had this phone for 3 years. It has worked great the whole time and we love how inexpensive it has been compared…

I have been a Virgin Mobile customer for about 4 years now and I will never sign another cell phone contract as long as I live. I like the flexibility that it gives me by allowing me to choose the amount of $ I want to add. If I my budget for the month is a little tight I have the option of just putting enough $ to get me through till payday. The fact that there are no weird, hidden fees or taxes is a super plus for me. No start-up fees, no early termination fees, nothing, I just add money to my account and they charge me a flat per minute rate. I have…

Virgin Mobile is a good phone company. It allows teens to to become responsible for themselves paying the phone bills. Since Virgin mobile is a pay as you go phone you get a lot of use out of the phone. They are sturdy, and don't break easily.Teens with have to become respobile for putting money on the phone so the become able to talk with their friends. Virigin mobile has deals to pay for a certain amount of text messages per month, which means that sending and recieving texts takes away from the amount you can have. Instead of paying 5 cents a text you can pay $5.99 for 200 texts. Virgin…

Virgin Mobile cell phone service is the best prepaid option out there. They are a little pricey on the minutes, but they have great prices for text messaging. You can also earn free minutes everyday on their website by watching mini commercials and giving your opinion of them. They also have more phone options then I've seen with other prepaid phone…

My review of Virgin Mobile is mixed. We chose Virgin Mobile pay as you go for our teen daughter because we did not want to get mixed up in any of the contract nightmares you hear about. We chose pay-by-the-month in which she hets 300 daytime and 1000 anytime minutes. We also added the 'all-important' text messages! The actual service for making calls and sending texts itself, it actually pretty good when the phone holds up. Twice, and it hasn't even been a year yet,the phone itself has broken. The phone manufaturer has a unique warrenty plan with Virgin Mobile,so you HAVE to go through Virgin…

Virgin Mobile is unlike most pre-paid cellular phone plans. They actually offer both types of plans, whereas most pre-paids only offer by the minute. Virgin Mobile gives you the option of buying by the minute i.e buying $20 cards, etc or you can pay a monthly fee and get large amounts of daytime minutes as well as large amounts of nighttime minutes included as well. Obviously they won't offer you the same amount of minutes as other regular cellphone companies for the same price. I currently get 300 daytime minutes and 1000 nights/weekends every month for $34.99 plus…

I've been with Virgin Mobile for the past three years. In that time, I've had the opportunity to use their website extensively, try out different phones that they offer and experience their idea of customer service. — — The website is laid out in a very easy to use manner. Clearly labled buttons guide you to what you are seeking. There is a nice amount of content for your phone (depending on what kind of phone you have, the content varies) and it is very easy to manage your account settings. Payment is either with a credit/debit card or with…
