I purchased this hair dryer some time ago now and, whilst I use it very frequently, it is in as good shape now as the day I bought it. I wanted a really good quality hair dryer, in line with those they use at the hair salon and I felt that this was pretty much it. It certainly wasn't the cheapest, it was in the middle to high end price range. What I like about it is there are three different heat settings; hot, warm and cold and then there are two different performance options; high and lo. I have very long, thick, heavy hair and not once has this piece of equipment over heated on me. Admittedly my hair is so heavy and thick that it takes quite some time to dry my hair, but it takes an equally long period of time at the hair salon. It comes with some useful attachments including a diffuser etc. I'm really pleased with my purchase and would go out of my way to purchase Vidal Sassoon again.

The Vidal Sassoon Hair Drier is 1875 Ion Select and it works well. It has a slightly rubberized handle for easy holding while you are drying your hair. There are three levels for drying which can be helpful so that you don't burn your scalp. There is a hot, warm and cool setting along with a turbo button and a cold blaster button above them. An additional switch allows you to vary the flow from high to low. This unit has a red reset button and a white test button found on the plug for safety and will be helpful in preventing electric shock. On the back of the dryer is a red switch that allows you to select the ions which can be dialed in from low to high. The back vent can be opened to remove lint or dust from the hair dryer.

With the exception of a brief period during the late 1970's when I was still in grade school and longer hair was in vogue, my hair has always been short and easy to manage. Most of the time, I let my hair dry naturally but there are still some occasions when I need my hair to dry quickly. This is when I reach for the **Vidal Sassoon Professional Hair Dryer with Finger Diffuser**, an 1875 watt hair dryer from the styling professionals. **Hair Dryer Commentary:** This Vidal Sassoon hair dryer offers many advantages, even for someone like myself who doesn't normally use hair dryers. First, it is nice to have three different heat settings and two different air flow speeds. I have owned simpler devices before that only offered two heat settings and one speed. On warm heat and high airflow, my hair is completely dry in about two to three minutes. There is a higher heat setting that would probably do the trick even faster but I avoid this setting because it is too hot on my head. Vidal Sassoon Professional also offers special attachments and added features that make it a good choice for those with longer hair and special hair problems. One added feature is the ionizer. This is easily turned on or off using the switch on the top of the hair dryer. Ionization, I have been told, seals in moisture, makes the hair dry faster, and eliminates frizziness. This feature works very nicely according to my wife. She doesn't have to use as much conditioner thanks to the ionizing abilities of this hair dryer. The main reason I purchased this model of hair dryer is because my wife wanted the attachments- particularly the diffuser. The diffuser is very good, according to my wife. In fact, she rates it among the best she has ever used and the reason is because it is so large and has so many prongs (12 in total). It makes curly hair look very nice, diffusing the heat in an efficient manner so that no small area is getting blasted with excess heat. Other features on this hair dryer include a cold blast feature and the straightening device. The cold blast is designed to quickly blast the hair with cold air to help hold a style in place and it probably works best on those with long, straight hair. The straightening device is, again, for people who have straight hair, want to straighten their hair, or want only a small amount of wave. It isn't useful to us but it seems to be a good attachment and it easily snaps on and off the front of the hair dryer. **Bottom Line Viewpoint:** Overall, this hair dryer is a very good device that performs to near perfection on people with short hair (like most any hair dryer) and works well for those with longer hair thanks to the additional features and extra attachments. Add to that the three heat levels, two speeds, and 1875 watts of power and you have the makings of a professional hair styling device- one that offers the essential features to give most people the final results they want.

I received the Vidal Sassoon Professional Hair Dryer with Finger Diffuser a few years ago and have yet to have any big issues with it.  I love the fact that it comes with not only the finger diffuser but it also comes with the airflow concentrator and mine came with a brush.  The ion on/off option is nice to have, but I am not sure I have noticed that much of a difference between the two settings.  The hair dryer does not get too hot, I have been able to handle it no problem.  The different settings, for heat and air flow are great since I can decide all these things.  I have a slight issue with frizz but it may just be my hair type (I have thin hair). The hair dryer is very stylish (mine is grey and black) and I have not had any issues with it breaking (I have dropped it before).  This product is very affordable and does the job well without any big issues.  My hair got caught in the back of my old hair dryer and I threw it out right after!  Overall, this is a good product and is worth it to get.

I recently purchased a Vidal Sassoon Ionic to replace my old sad hair dryer.  For me the biggest pro and con for this hair dryer are the same.  The air that it blows out is SO unbelievably hot.  I can use it to blow my bangs dry in less than five seconds, but it also burns my forehead underneath in the process.  Not to worry though, this hair dryer has a cool setting and a snowflake for a super cool setting.  So you can use the hair dryer with a round brush to create waves or curls really quickly, or to straighten hair quickly and easily with a paddle brush.  I use it after I shower in the mornings and find that my whole head is completely dry within like five minutes. It's a huge upgrade from my last hair dryer which blew room temperature air and took forever to do anything.  So be careful when using the "hot" setting but aside from that it's really a good quality hair dryer.  I would recommend it to people that use it to style their hair and require heat and a cold setting to set the style.
