A friend tried helping me get this thing in my hair and we could not do it. Even tried using smaller amounts of hair. Better off leaving this item on the shelf and your money in your pocket. Tried going online to see if there were any tricks for getting it to work better and only found other poor reviews.

This is a family site so I am trying to be as polite as I can in writing about this worthless piece of junk. Save your money and buy some rubber bands. They'll do your hair better service than the so-called "Fan Tail," a gadget that looks like a milk-bottle ring with attached hooks. This garbagy thing is supposed to be twisted into the base of a ponytail, and pieces of hair brought into the surrounding hooks for a messy bun effect. All I got for my trouble was tangled hair, a broken Fan Tail, and a frustrated hour of my life I will never get back. The wrapper comes with pictures about the size of a postage stamp, showing the ponytail in a position opposite that which is described in the directions, and those pictures were poor quality; further, the English directions read like they were translated from a language other than the French and Spanish on the wrapper. The Fan Tail twisted my hair around and did not anchor securely--the hair just untwisted but left the worthless gadget tangled. In the end two of the hooks broke off. I would have had an easier time putting my hair up with glue and wooden sticks. The money I spent was a nice relaxing cappuchino I could have enjoyed instead.

When I saw this product, which is touted as an easy way to get the look of a meesy up-do, I thought it sounded great.  But little did I know what pain and frustration was in store for me!  I tried for about 45 minutes to decipher and implement the instructions given with this little hair tool!  It was not clear AT ALL what you were supposed to DO with the darn thing, and although I tried several different ways, none of them worked.  I finally just decided to take it back and get a refund.  The hole in the center of the thing was too small to get any hair through, which is what you are supposed to do with it.  Also, it would not twist and stay in my hair - it kept falling out.  The directions said to make a ponytail and place the thing on top of the ponytail - not sure if that meant on the literal top, or on the back.  I tried both, neither worked.  I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with this supposedly great product.  Looked really cool, but did not work AT ALL.  I later saw several bad reviews similar to mine all over the internet.  Seems I was not the only one who had problems getting it to work.

This product "The Fan Tail" SUCKS!!!!! It will make you want to beat the tar out of someone! If you can even get it to attach to your hair by using the clockwise motion, you had better have a buzzer available just so you can shave your hair off after the darned thing gets entangled in it! And the pictures on the package (what a joke)....They show **ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!**This lady needs to be executed for lying on her advertisements!!!!!!! Shes nuts!!!!  About the only thing this would be good for is melting it back down just to watch it disappear!!!!  Or just to make something new that actually works for the consumer!!!!
