Pros

Nice fragrance at first, sheer color, high gloss, sparkly, pretty in tube

Cons

made my lips painful, made my lips crack, chemical smell made me nauseous

I had heard such rave reviews of Victorias Secret Beauty Rush Lipgloss that one day while I was in Victoria's Secret, I decided to purchase a few of them. The price was good and I figured that it could not hurt to try out some of the most interesting colors.

WHAT WAS BEAUTY RUSH LIPGLOSS LIKE?

I can not remember the names of the four colors I tried, but they were very pretty in the tube. The texture was a bit sticky, but the initial fragrances were attractive. The tube applicator was okay and handy as part of the tube.

HOW DID BEAUTY RUSH LIPGLOSS PERFORM?

When I applied my first color, at first I thought that it smelled yummy, but immediately after that, I had a wretching feeling- the smell was making me nauseous. There was some kind of chemical smell that was being masked by the *yummy* smell and I could not wear it.

So, on to the second color. Same thing, but this time, after wearing it for about 20 minutes, my lips began to crack and bleed.

I was having an allergic reaction to it!

I did faithfully try the other two flavors of the Beauty Rush Gloss and had similar experiences. My lips were in literal pain.

The next day I went right back to Victoria's Secret to return these glosses and my lips were in pain even then. Despite the store telling me before I bought the glosses that I could return them for any reason, the clerk gave me a very hard time.

The manager gave me a hard time and told me that I could not return anything and after a while of refusing to back down, they gave me a refund. Later on, I found out that it was not their policy to refuse returns at all! They should have given me a problem at all- especially when I had such a bad reaction!

COMMENTS

So, my experience is not good at all with Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Glosses. Despite the first appearance, I would rather use lip balm than this gloss if it was the only thing out there.

But many people love these glosses. I guess I am just not one of them.

LOL you are so funny- your comments are always fun to read! That would be frustrating to not be able to wear glitter, btw. I love glitter ;)

I guess Victoria should have kept this one a secret, huh? I think my friends' daughters like using the high glosses from Abercrombie and Finch. They're about 47 a tube unless you can get them on sale but they seem to work good. I can't use them though b/c anything with glitter irritates my lips ;+{
