I hate flies, but flies love me. Everyone else can shoo them away. They keep coming back to annoy me. I was battling with one this afternoon. Oh man. I really do hate flies.

I bought some fancy fly hotel thing to hang up. It looked pretty nice. The problem was that the flies would go sit on it, and that was it. They just sat and then came back to buzz around my head and sit on my book and crawl on the computer screen.

With kids and critters in the house, I really hate to go around spraying poison to kill flies.

There are not many alternatives.

One thing I know that does work is Victor Fly Catchers.

If you have been in old country stores in the South, then you may have seen these. They are like strips of tape hanging usually from the ceiling and then covered with dead flies. Ugh. Not a pleasant sight or thought. I always thought they were just dreadful, but . . .

I have found that Victor Fly Catchers work really well.

I pop a cap, hang a fly catcher, and the flies are captured quickly. Then, I can discard of the sticky tape catchers. This is much easier and usually faster than trying to track down and swat flies with a swatter.

I usually hang one on the fireplace mantal and take it down as soon as the flies are caught. I'm very sure to make sure such an ugly thing is not hanging when anyone comes over.

The only place I could buy these before was the community store, but the last pack I got at Lowe's when I was buying other house supplies.

If you do want to get rid of flies quick and with a natural method, these really can't be beat. They've been used for years and years. They are effective. They are also very inexpensive. They definatley aren't pretty though.
