Wow, I read the reviews on Vicks VapoRub and found something new that I haven't tried but I will tonight. A couple people mentioned using it on your feet to help with colds and callous's, I am very picky about my feet and I bet it would soften them by applying the vicks and putting on socks, I do that with lotions.
My family, like everyone elses's that wrote a review, has used Vicks VapoRub for ever. I know when my siblings and I were just little bitty things, if we got a cold, fever etc. out came the Vicks. I am 63 and my medicine cabinet has never been without a jar of Vicks in it. I still use it and I actually like the smell, maybe because I know I will feel better in the morning. I rub it on my neck and chest even on my back between my shoulders then heat up a cloth to cover the areas where I put the Vicks. When I have a chest cold and use the Vicks I will pull the covers up so I can breath in that smell even better. When my children were small and didn't feel good, they would go get the Vicks VapoRub and bring it to me with a cloth to put around thier neck and on thier chest. They are both married now and have two children each and yes there is always a big jar of Vicks in thier medicine cabinets also. They use it on thier kids just like I used on them and my mom used it on me. Some one else said it was a family tradition, well it is in my family also. There use to be a rub called Save the Baby and I think it was made by Vicks, we used it also, but I don't know if they still make it or not. But Vicks VapoRub just can't be beat by anything for chest colds, sore throats, congestion etc. I would add if you have never tried it you don't know what your missing but I don't know of anyone personally that doesn't use it. I think everyone has sometime in thier life. The pro's and con's are right on except I don't mind the greasy feel at all, it actually helps hold the warm cloth on your neck and or chest.
