Vick's really is an awesome vapor rub and works so wonderfully, just rub it on your chest and almost instantly you can breath and the achy feeling goes away and it feels good to have some comfort during a cold.  also tried putting on my feet and covering with socks and that also seemed to wotk that way - the greasiness of it is bothersome - but the smell really doesn't get to me, usually I am just glad to start smelling anything when I have a stuffy nose
