I bought this when my daughter just couldn't shake the ending of a cold. It worked well on her cough and runny nose, but it did make the room quite warm. I just left her door open a little at night to keep it from getting too warm. In one of the other reviews, there was a complaint of water collecting on the ceiling. I did not notice this when it was in my daughter's room, possibly because I left the door ajar. It has a small area for using essential oils, which I liked. I used a little eucaliptus oil in it for soothing. Just be careful to only use a drop or two, the steam makes it go a long way. I am happy with the humidifier being in our living room, just so the air isn't so dry. Hopefully this will cut down on the colds a little bit. I bought this on sale for $15 I think, and am pleased with the value.
