Versiontracker.com is an excellent source for freeware, shareware and commercial software for Windows and Mac computers. If you need an application it can probably be found here. For those not familiar with the terminology here are the definitions:

Freeware
Free, just as the name implies. These are applications that cost nothing but will sometimes ask for small donations. Payment is your choice.

Shareware
Unlike freeware this software is sold for a small cost (usually under $30.00.) You can try the software for free for a certain length of time to see if it is what you need.

I have found several pieces of software using this site, mostly free. If a computer illiterate like myself can navigate and use this site anyone can.
