I've been a faithful T-Mobile user for years.  In the last several months, I've been ready to throw my Sidekick into a wall.  Service has been spotty, emails were arriving late, and the spam kicked into high gear.  The keyboard on my Sidekick bubbled up and the "J" key went missing.

It was time to find something else, but I knew I didn't want to continue with T-Mobile.  Other friends were having the same problems with the spotty service.  We tried Virgin phones for the kids, but the monthly plans kept resorting back to pay-as-you-go and our bill was getting higher and higher.

So on a whim, I stopped in the Verizon store in Bolingbrook several days ago.  I walked out with four phones for a total of $114 per month-- unlimited data plans and 700 shared voice calls.  We received a discount thanks to my husband's place of employment.

I have to say this for that Verizon location-- the customer service is excellent.  I wasn't happy with the first phone so I switched to a Blackberry.  Typing on the tiny keys after years with a Sidekick gave me a headache and I discovered there was no AOL IM (I'd have to purchase a one time download, I later learned.)

So I went back a third time because I was struggling with the Blackberry.  I ended up with another phone that served my needs much better.

A big thank you to Paul, Pat and Eric for the help you gave over three days.  This store gets two thumbs up for the customer service.

Verizon is a horrible company. I am writing complaints to the BBB, FCC and the States Attorney General, regarding their horrible and fraudelent practices in not conducting business in good faith

They advertise that they have the best network, but that depends on where you live. I live in Bolingbrook IL, where their are multiple stores. Bolingbrook is a WEAK signal, and the nearest tower is Woodridge. If you live in Bolingbrook, you will be frustrated with dropped calls.

I understand that not all places are covered, but my problem with Verizon is the duplicity, and fraud. They would not let me out of my contract, despite admitting that the signal was weak. First they tried to ignore the problem, but after a substantial amount of help tickets they started to take the issue seriously. Then, I jumped through hoops trying to get the problem fixed, and all they did was back track and lie, with each conversation. One conversation would say, to get your phone tested, THEN we will let you out of the contract. When I did that, and the phone was cleared, they lied and did not let me out of the contract.

They claim that Bolingbrook did not fit their "marginal area" consideration, which is total bull. Several calls before, customer services admitted that Bolingbrook was a weak area, and even the people in their own stores know its a weak area.

Verizon, they out breach their own contracts. They spend their money on commercials, saying they have the best network, but in reality, they do not. They get their money up front from customers when customers decide to leave. They say you can try their network, however, its not enough time to determine serviceability and they know it.
