Think twice, bundle package not a good buy at all, RIP OFF!

1

The products aren't to bad. I went from a regular phone with just texting to one with everything. We also went with Verizon with our home phone & wireless internet. We switched after being told we would get a way better rate then what we were paying before & only writing one check & paying one bill instead of 3. Well, we just got our second bill and it is HIGHER then what we were quoted at the store. I HATE being lied to. I am not very happy with the Verizon store we went to at all. We were in that store for 4 hours listening to the sales person talk us into bundling our services. Great buy? NOT!!! Ripoff yes!! Oh, if you live in an area that gets bad reception, do not get this bundle. I took my wireless router with me to my in-laws, they live on a farm, it went out on me constantly. Also the salesperson said he would call us to check in, before our return date was up, to make sure everything was going good. Another lie from him. I did call the 800 number to find out why our bill was still so high, they explained it but of course could not help me any further. I will be calling the local store, in Bismarck, ND, that we went to to voice my concerns. I am sure I won't get any results except for getting even angrier. Calling from my home phone, I get a lot of feed back when I am talking with friends and family. I never got feed back before with my local phone company. It doesn't happen all the time but every time I call my sister. I can't wait for my 2 yrs to be done now, because I am more then happy to cut the ties with Verizon. Prepaid plans seem the best way to go, 'cause there is at least no headaches or lies with them. I hope this helped you make your decision on the Verizon bundle package. Stay with what you have, you will be much happier & better off. Update, Verizon has not been any help at all and of course think they are high and mighty enough to be right & me wrong. I also just got a update of what my internet usage is and it is already at 50 percent. I am not even half into the month so will now have to cut down my internet usage, 'cause I will not go to a higher usage plan. Going with this bundle plan was the biggest mistake we have ever done. We went to the plan because we thought we were going to save some money & we aren't at all. We should have stayed with our original plan & our other companies that we had our internet & house phone. It would have been a better savings. So if you have kids who like to be able to use the internet, your hubby & you use it too, then don't go with this plan. Not a good idea at all, unless you don't care about saving money. I have now gotten an alert that I have 10% of my web usage left until Sept. 3rd. Sure, maybe I have been on the computer a bit to much, but when I don't have a life, the computer is my life. This past month has been especially unusual for me to be on the internet so much but have been dealing with a lot of bad life stuff, so he computer is a get away for me. Now when I get my kids' computers connected to the internet we are in trouble. I will have to limit them & myself, big time or spend more for internet. This is going to cause a HUGE problem. I am very angry, at this point, for being talked into this bundle. Having our internet from Midco. was so much cheaper and the usage was unlimited. DO NOT go with this bundle because you will be sorry you did. Stay with what you have. Even our phones still stink. I have been on my cell & home phone and the person I am talking with can not hear me. K, cell phone I can see, but when it started happening on my home phone, ya a bit mad about that. The clarity isn't what it should be on the home phone either. I sooooo wish my 2 years was up already. I can not wait to switch back to our old services and will be very happy to switch back. The Verizon Family Share & bundle plan is a bunch of crap, do NOT go with it unless you feel it is best for you. Trust me though it isn't at all. HUGE RIP OFF!!!!!!! I really don't think I will stay with Verizon at all when our contract is up either. I will do my research ahead of time and go with a better service. This is what I get for not listening to my gut feeling that day. We got screwed big time. I do NOT recommend this package to anyone and have been making that very clear to all my family & friends. They have been spreading the word too. DON'T GET THIS BUNDLE!!!!!! Call Quality Some feedback when calling long distance from my home phone. We have the bundle pack, home phone, internet & cell phones. Now when talking with family & friends, they can't hear us but we can hear them, on our home phone. Don't get this bundle package, you will be sorry if you do. It is not a saving at all. Customer Service Lies should not be tolerated & the customer should be given what they were quoted. Calling Features We were told that we could get the caller ID with phone number & name. We paid the $2 extra for the service but never got it. They did take the charge off but we still don't get the name of the caller on the caller ID. We were really wanting that feature. That was a selling point too, so very unhappy that we aren't getting the feature. This bundle package is a waste.

They are expensive but they are working well for me

I switched from US Cellular a couple of years ago because US Cellular had really bad dead zones around my day job. They were consistently dropping calls, Plus, I did not like the cell phones they had available. I had become disgusted with the keyboard and the lockup problem on my Blackberry. I was rebooting up to 4 or 5 times a day. Verizon had better coverage and better phones and an unlimited data plan. Problem is, Verizon is a bit expensive. I'm paying about $130 a month now for an unlimited data plan with 900 phone minutes, non rolloverable, with unlimited nights and weekends. Verizon made a Droid X available to me before and I am now using an Apple Iphone 4. Call and data coverage had been excellent, and I rarely get drops. Verizon's customer service and technical support has been very good also. Verizon also has a good selection of phones, being the second carrier to get the Apple Iphone, with a reputation of superior customer service as compared to AT&T. I can recommend Verizon as a cell phone carrier. Call Quality call quality has been consistently great Customer Service generally knowledgeable and helpful but not always Compatibility worked well with the Blackberry Storm, Droid X and the Iphone Calling Features All the smartphones worked well Ease of Use very easy to use

Good product service, HORRIBLE Customer Service In Stores

2

I think Verizon's phone service is great. Their customer service leaves a LOT to be desired though. I have been told in stores that the store manager will be sued by the company if she helps customers, I have called district managers and asked for return calls and not received any, and I have been told there is nothing they can do on the store level to help someone who has had to get three of the same phone replaced in a week timespan (and the phone was only in month 7 of the one year warranty). I would never recommend anyone to go to the University Parkway store in Winston-Salem, North Carolina unless you want to be frustrated and get nothing accomplished. Their store manager and their district manager have no respect for the customers. It is worth the time to drive to a different store to attempt to get any form of customer service.

Avoid this company if you can!

I have had Verizon for as long as I can remember, at many different addresses. It seems, in this "free market" we have, we don't have much freedom with telecommunication. I never gave Verizon, much thought, as my phone service and DSL were adequate. It was only recently, when I accepted a new "bundle" offer from them, that I realized how terribly Verizon has devolved as a company. I was told that, if I accepted this deal, I would have additional features for the same price I have been paying since 2007. This was in March of this year. I noticed in April that my bill was about $25 more than I had been quoted. I did not pay my bill, and I have made numerous calls to Verizon, since that time. Without going into details about my personal situation, or how tight my budget is at this time, I am now stuck with a large bill and cannot change my service back to what it was, until my account is current. I have dealt with some of the *worst* customer service reps, from any company I have ever dealt with. I don't know what has changed in their corporate environment, but there seems to be no way to communicate with these people. This recent situation has caused me to remember the old adage, "Buyer, beware." Be ***very*** careful when dealing with Verizon, in any capacity. My problem deals with home phone and internet, but I assume the customer service issue would affect cell service as well. Do NOT give verbal agreement to anything. Make sure you have a clear written contract that you are comfortable with. Shop around, as best you can, to make sure you are getting the best deal you can. Do not trust that customer service reps know what they are talking about. I am now going to check Viewpoints for reviews on Magic Jack and Vonage, and I will check with Comcast to see if they can offer me a better deal on phone and internet. The only cell service I would consider at this time will be Sprint or a prepaid plan, now that T-Mobile is merging with AT&T. That's the lesson I have learned from this experience-just because these corporations are large and old, does not mean you will get the best service.

VZW best carrier service

5

I have been with Verizon since I was 18 and old enough to get my own contract (I'm 26 now). Love that I don't drop calls, that they provide great customer service, that I can do everything (get new phone, pay bill, etc) online, and everything about VZW. I would definitely recommend this carrier to everyone.

awful

my moms phone has been out from june 2010 and verizon just fixed it for the 12th time. we have contacted them over and over in the past 9 months and they have not responded in a good way. They would constantly tell my elderly mom that they were working on it and it was the outside wires etc. They strung her along and along with no resolution. Since last June she has called, I called and my brother has called over 100 times. This is utterly ridiculious. They totally dropped the ball and were not good at all in their fixing her problem. They kept trying to have her buy other products and I really believe it was a ploy . We threatened them with a lawsuit and to call the newspapers and they then responded and finally fixed it....hopefully for good!

verizon is great

We have had verizon internetfor the last three and a half years and I am very happy with my service. There have been a couple of times when my service stopped working completely and when I called and they were unable to get it working by having me plug and unplug and push this button and that button they got a service tech out here the next day and had it up and running and gave me credit for when my service was down. I have had it run slow a few times but that was usually when I caught a virus and now that I have a virus protection plan running all the time that never happens anymore. The cost is very reasonable and I have been charged 25 ish ever since I got the service and I think that is pretty reasonable since I have 4 computers all hooked up to the internet and a couple of laptops on it too. I would highly recommend the internet with verizon they are a great company with really great customer service

Verizon is an awful company

2

Well I would like to say Verizon is an very awful compan i have ever met. First i chose his family plan, and i used one year, then i want to quit cause the every month's fee is very high, and the company charge me 120 dollars for i broke the contract. We also chose to use his wireless internet. We began it last Augest, then we moved to a new place and want to cancel it. It  charge us 100 dollars and also we cannot got the 70 deposit. Right now we use the Verizon Fios, but i found the internet speed is just so so. The signal is weak espically the weather is bad, for example, in the rainday , my computer sometimes cannot find the wireless net. Sometimes it is very difficult for me to open the website outside USA. We contact the verizon company many times, but no one come to fix for us. Besides this, I think the signal for Verizon's cellphone is good. We can use it everywhere, even i am in the top of the enpire building. My friends who is using AT&T can not use her phone in the some place.

Verizon Highspeed is not very highspeed

3

Verizon highspeed  should not be called high-speed. It is better than dial-up though. If you get the quoted price read the fine print. Although it was not in the fine print when I got Verizon. To get the quoted price you have to have Verizon phone service and keep the same phone service the whole time you have their high-speed. I was told that the $24.99 would never go up for as long as I had the Verizon high-speed. I switched my phone company and they started charging a lot more for my high-speed. When I asked about the increase they said it was because I was not using Verizon phone service anymore. I checked my contract that I signed and there was nothing in it about having to have a Verizon phone line to get the $24.99 price. They would not work with me on the price. A day or so after my questioning them about were it said I had to have a Verizon phone line, they made changes to the user agreement on their website. I would like to get rid of Verizon high-speed but they have a monopoly in my area. Other companies  can not offer there service were Verizon is available. I am stuck with the slow high-speed. Watch out !!
