I've tried lots of blank media & learned the hard way. Now I only use 2 brands. Verbatim, esp.Verbatim DataLifePlus is the 2nd best on the market. But be sure to buy authentics--manufactured by Mitibishi Chemical Corp. Media ID:MCC...., number may vary. Download the free DVD Identifier which will confirm this & find a store/online store which sells only authentics. With good software, a good dvd writer, &  authentic Verbatim DVD-R's all your home movies will play, sound, & look great.
