Vera Wang by Serta Sweet Comfort Mattress —

To the Point

We recently bought the Sweet Comfort Mattress made for Vera Wang by Serta. The model number is VW00545. We did this after I researched what foam (Tempur-Pedic, for example) is made from (petroleum) and decided that a latex mattress was more natural. It's made from rubber trees.

We had tried out so many mattresses that we thought we were comfortable with a purchase of a mattress selling at retail of $3999 and with discounts $1999.

We slept on it for two weeks. One night, my husband, hannasdad, pushed me over saying that I was on his side. Sure enough I was on his side and felt as if I had to climb over to my side.

For $2,000 I want to feel great in the morning. The mattress sits on a platform. It doesn't have a pillow topper which is something I like but it does have 1 ½ inches of Talalay latex on the top which should have given us comfort.

In the Talalay process the bubbles in the latex are vacuumed out making a smoother mattress. I didn't find it smooth and unlike foam it doesn't pop back up.

The Vera Wang is a Serta product. The mattress itself is 8" consisting of a Talalay Core. The fabric around the mattress is treated with Aloe Vera. It is a knit fabric that stretches. One aspect that I likes was that the mattress has anti-microbial fibers and repels mites.

There is a 30-year warranty.

My Final Thoughts

I don't like it and will review the $3500 mattress we bought in 4 weeks.

I don't have a picture since I didn't take one before I left to go to Florida and now it's gone!

I don't understand why all the negative reviews are shown first at Viewpoints, and I also don't understand why all these unhappy people didn't invoke their consumer rights with the warranty and trial period. With all the negative reviews, a score of 3.48 out of 5 is pretty darn good.

I bought this mattress in July and find it to be extremely comfortable. I guess each persons body is different. I am 6'4". 250lbs!

I can totally relate to how difficult it is to find the right mattress. There's nothing worse than investing in a mattress that makes you feel horrible in the morning. I hope you find one soon that is more suitable for you. We'll be in the market for one soon, and it's not a shopping experience I'm looking forward to.

Getting a good nights sleep is a must. I sympathize with the problem. Unfortunately, mine doesn't happen to be the mattress as we have a very nice foam mattress on the bed. It molds to our shape and allows us to be near each other without rolling over on each other. We've had it for a number of years and really love it. It is however, one that I can't turn myself and is even difficult with help.

Did they take it back without a problem? I ask because we are going to buy a new mattress soon and I am over-whelmed with all the choices! It is a king size bed and I don't want to spend a lot of money and then be unhappy!
