If you go to Italy, you HAVE to go to Venice!

Pros

    vapretto transportation is easy, beautiful sites, great shopping, easy to get around the city, beautiful city, walking city

Venice, even for a non-Italian is a wonderful experience. It was the second city of five that I went to in Italy and probably my favorite. It is really easy to get around, with the water buses and cabs, and you could walk around the whole city if you chose to. It is beautiful, with amazing architecture and canals. It is definitely an old city, but it is slowly adding modernizations behind that gorgeous architecture.
