Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived. We were upgraded from a 2 to a 3-bedroom suite. Exceptionally spacious & clean, never saw a bug during our entire one week stay. Staff were always available to restock water and snacks. Grounds are beautifully maintained and poolside service is friendly and efficient. Our 12 & 14 yr. old boys enjoyed the pool and the beach. The resort was spacious and a very nice layout to relax and get away from the husle of the city life. The grounds are lush with green tropical plants and trees, birds singing all add to the decor in the extensive pool area. Service was extremely good. The evening entertainment in the hotel was fun with a good variety. The food in the two dining rooms were what you find in a 5 star hotel. The buffet however, could use some improvement in the quality and availability of hot foods. The location was good, close to the water and other hotels. The staff was very very nice. There were only 2 restaurants from which to choose, so for an all inclusive that seemed somewhat limited. Service in the restaurants was spotty, but food was above average. The beach was the most disappointing part of the hotel, as it was so rocky that you could not walk comfortably in the waterRecreational Attactions: Short Drive, The best golf courses are not the Marina Vallarta across the street. This is the ninth year of visiting Puerto Vallarta, seven of which we stayed at Velas Vallarta. We do not own a timeshare there (nor anywhere else) and have no intention of doing so. The trip was as usual..great.Shopping: Not Applicable, Trip to downtown area is 5 pesos (have exact fare) by bus; and about $5.00 USD by cab. Hotel has small clothing store & mini super market. Wow ! The food was amazing! It was all inclusive and I couldn't believe it! They had 5 star dining lobster and wine the whole deal. Or you could opt to eat in the more casual restaurant right next to the ocean water. Amazing views, all you could eat or buffet. The hotel was like a paradise full of trees, huge beautiful iguanas, hanging out, albino and regular peakocks throughout the resort 5 pools surrounded by lush greenery.
