Vegetarian Times magazine is clearly centered, enjoyable to read, and easy on the eye.  It's far-and-away a publication about the healthy lifestyle that includes eco-friendly clothing and preservative- and petroleum-free cosmetics as well as fresh foods and balanced diets.  (If someone would fix it for me, I could eat their vegan recipes for Chickpea Tacos or Curried Apple-Potato Soup in a minute.)
I was impressed by the March 2008 article by Hannah Wallace on "Veg Pets?  A Meatless Diet is Better for Some Species Than Others.  Here's What You Need to Know."
In this article, holistic vet Bob Ulbrich made the important point that "... it's great if you're a primate who eats nothing but vegetables....  However, we're not dogs or cats..." the latter of whom need high levels of the taurine found in meat and of arginine, the "vitamin A (which they can't biosynthesize from vegetables)..."
Go on-site for good subscription deal: three years for $17.99 at this writing.  That's nine issues per year with no added charges for mailing and none of that endless subscription foo-fa which requires you to cancel when it's time for renewal.

Perhaps I shall; the only issue is that I love to bake my own!

I am not a vegetarian, but I enjoy some vegetarian cuisine and this looks very interesting.
Great review; thanks!

That's what the flu is for. (At least in my experience.)

Yeah when i watch shows on TV and they show how EASY it is to make something, I'm always thinking "sure, but who cut up all those ingredients and measured them out for you first?" Actually if someone would JUST do that, I'd be able to do the rest :)

I used to get this magazine. I can't keep up with the ones I do get!

Thanks for your comment. Even if you cook your veggies plain (as I do), the recipes and pictures are inspiration for the time when we can get live-in chefs. (I wish...)

"If someone would fix it for me, I could eat their vegan recipes for Chickpea Tacos or Curried Apple-Potato Soup in a minute"... I often feel that way about many healthy meals :) I'm a vegetarian, never knew there were magazines! Thanks for sharing!
