I really enjoy using this paint on a variety of things

4

I have always been very satisfied with the quality of paint that I have gotten from Valspar. It gets the job done and covers my walls nicely I am an artist and have found that some of the "specialty" paints sold for canvases get thick and leave too many brushstrokes. Someone recommended that I try out wall paint instead, so I have recently started buying the sample sizes from a nearby Lowes. The paint dries faster, leaves fewer brush strokes, and is a whole lot cheaper than any acrylic paint out there Quality It dries very quickly and few coats are needed to cover the walls. Durability When I switched to Valspar paint, I noticed that I rarely had to repaint my walls anymore. It is very nice not having to touch up white walls yearly because of scratches and marks from the kids and the pets Coverage The paint covers the walls very well. Few coats were needed for me to get the job done. Ease of Appliation The paint goes on very smoothly and dries quickly, making a big painting project less of a hassle.

Snazzy Colors, Gotta Use Their Paint!

4

When shopping for a new paint color for a room in my house, I'm one of those crazy people that grab fistfuls of the paint swatch samples; every color I might even remotely think is lovely, then take weeks to decide what color is going where. I've never based these choices on the brand of paint, I pick the color, flip over the swatch, bingo! That's the paint I use. This has always worked fairly well. until the day it didn't. My boyfriend had selected a Valspar Ultra color "Gotham Gray" for the walls of his man cave. It was a very rich, deep grey - blue. The swatch looked nice enough, but once it was on the walls it was amazing. The room was a fairly average size, not enormous by any means, and he did the standard two coats, but ran just shy of finishing the job. We needed a little bit more for some sketchy spots. I went out to get more paint and went to the wrong big-box store location. No problem I was told, they could just color match it! Got the new pseudo Gotham Gray home, started rolling it on and were horrified of the results. The colors were nothing alike! Not even slightly! The new color was drab and bland and just looked terrible, it was such a disappointment. Not long after, I went to the correct location for the Valspar Ultra, got my color and when we started using it, it was back to the fantastic, rich color we had started with. I'll never make that mistake again, Valspar really matches their colorings to their specific paint and the results are pretty great.

Run away from this product.

This is the worst paint ever. Whoever invented it should find another career. Quality It gloms on and spreading it is a wrestling match and the paint wins, i.e. it won't spread. My hands hurt! Durability If the way it drips like water is any indication of it's durability- forget about it. Coverage Over and over and over again you paint, then wait, you have to do it again because the first coat of white paint over an already painted white surface is not enough. It's a painter's nightmare. Ease of Appliation Horrible, horrible. There is no ease of application, there is dis-ease of application. This is hands down, the hardest paint to apply- EVER!

I Will Never Buy Valspar Paint!

1

We bought a house that needed some interior painting, and went with Valspar Ultra Premium Interior paint because it was recommended to us by the sales people. We will never make the mistake of using Valspar paint again. It was difficult to apply to the wall because it was so thick and dried so fast we couldn't even it out. As a result, the walls have a streaky look. Even though it has primer included, we still had to apply 2 coats to every surface (walls and doors). It's been several months now, and still when we try to wipe anything off the walls, the paint comes off on the paper towel! When we applied it to our built in bookshelves, it didn't dry well, and is still sticky months later. We don't even live in a humid environment, but it's still sticky. When we applied it to the wood doors, it bubbled and peeled. Needless to say, it's a very poor quality paint that no one should buy for their home, in our opinion.
