buy quality to last, happy with Valspar, Homeowner, the home painter, a do-it-yourselfer, handy around the house
I bought this paint and a competitors paint to paint our yet to be born baby's room. We went with Valspar (light blue) because they had the exact color we wanted. There were cheaper brands there, so we mixed and matched brands. The valspar when on extremely well. One coat and the wall was near perfect. The other brand that we used was a dark brown color, which surprised me that it took two coats to cover the wgite base color. From now on I will spend the few extra dollars for valspar because I think that it is worth…

Homeowner, conscious of quality & cost, happy with Valspar, Lowe's shopper
I was skeptical it would cover well in one coat as in my prior adventures in painting, I always needed two coats. I painted the master bedroom a pale green over the blue that had been on the walls for a couple years. The coverage was excellent with one coat!! It covered smoothly and the richness and texture of the paint itself was amazing!! — I had a gallon of another name brand and decided to paint another bedroom. After I let the first coat dry, it was apparent I needed another coat. The paint was thinner…

the home painter, happy with Valspar, a Home Depot shopper
I am probably alone on this earth as a person who enjoys house painting as a hobby. I'm not a professional or anything like that, I just find it relaxing and rewarding. In the three years I've owned my home, I've probably painted or re-painted every part of it at least once. — As I've learned the trade, I've found that Valspar is perhaps the best supplier of quality paint in today's stores. Not only is it affordable, durable, and long lasting, the variety in colors provided at my local Home Depot is unmatched. It spreads as or more easily than any paint I have ever used, and it is…

This is good paint. It goes on easy, comes in lovely colors, and is low odor. But I have consistenly found poor coverage with the colors using base 2. 3 coats minimum, 4 in areas that get sunlight! — — I am trying to paint yellow over a barely off white wall, even with two coats the color is VERY grey and off. Similarly, a bright green over a taupe wall took 3 coats, and four in a sunny alcove, a bit disconcerting with such pricey paint. — — The base 1 colors go on like a charm, with lovely true color in one coat! Hard to believe it's the same paint. — …

Homeowner, not very handy, practical guy
Valspar has some great online tools that helped me decide what colors I wanted. — The painter is great because I was able to remove and add colors to specific rooms displayed online and also view complementary recommended colors. — http://valspar.com/painter.html — Paint Calculator: http://valspar.com/do-it-yourself.html?openCalc — Also, I had no idea what finish to buy until I read this article: http://valsparatlowes.com/do-it-yourself/steps/Painting_Choosing_Finish.html — — I ended up buying Valspar Medallion and have no complaints. — — —…

I have had years upon years of experience in painting and decorating. I am not a professional, but it is my passion. I have used many brands of paint from Sherwin-Williams to Sears brand to Lucite. And by far, I have concluded that Valspar/Signature paint is THE BEST! It has excellent coverage and the choice of colors is endless. They also have many techniques, such as crackle, glazes, brushed pearl that are easy to apply with wonderful results. I have gotten many compliments on my designs. This paint, my friends, is highly…

willing to pay for quality, a person who enjoys quality, price compare, Homeowner, conscious of quality & cost, happy with Valspar, buy quality to last
We are using only Valspar for the entire remodeling project. Valspar paint has been the truest to the paint sample colors we could find. The best feature: no fumes!!! —
My son wanted his room painted in a campflage design but I couldn't find the right colors with any other brand. I found Valspar at Lowes and the color selection was better than any of the others. I had the colors mixed and painted test areas on the wall. I taped the color samplers next to the test areas and the paint dried true to color! —…

Homeowner, looking for value, conscious of quality & cost, handy around the house, mother, $$$ saver, happy with Valspar, a do-it-yourselfer
This paint is easy to apply and can usually cover in one coat. Tis a bit more expensive than most paint but is worth it when you can use one coat for the most part. It keeps it's color and is fairly easy to clean up. I would recommend this paint to anyone who has little time to be doing 2 or 3 coats of paint and who doesn't want to spend their time cleaning up a mess that should be minimal. I rate this paint at a 4. — …

I love Valspar paint. I researched and found that this product got good reviews. I painted the whole house with it and it held up to 2 small children wonderfully. It has good coverage. The color stayed true among the gallong that we purchased. If you get a mark on the wall, it cleans up well. I was very happy with this paint. I would definately buy this paint…

I used this paint for covering over trim in my home that had been previously stained. The paint held up great and had no signs of cracking after two years. It is a great product for the price. I did have to use two coats of paint on the trim, however it was still cheaper than some of the other brands of paint out…

Had to use three coats of white to cover a light blue wall. The price was fair. I had no problems with the colored valspar paint I purchased, just needed mulitple coats of the white. I did receive a rebate from Lowe's for the product. Had much better coverage than the other brands I tried and it was true to…

Homeowner, Mr. Fix-it
For a professional painter, coverage is the most important thing. Valspar is one of the best paints that I've used in my 15 years of doing this. Anything with a pigment will get covered in one coat minus a lil touch up here and there. My only real con is their plain white will need two…

The paint has a thicker consistency which can make it a little harder to work with but it has exellent one-coat coverage even over darker colors. Would still recommend a primer coat of Kilz. We've tried just about every brand carried by Lowes and this has become our favorite. …

Excellent one coat coverage. I applied it using a foam roller. This left a smooth finish with no brush stroke marks. Had to thin to prevent clumping. …
