Painting is not much fun. Well, some people may enjoy it. I don't particularly.

If I'm going to paint, I want a paint that is easy to use and that will wipe off and last longer. I really hate to go to all the trouble to paint and then have to do it again the next year.

I've used several different paints, and Valspar is my top pick. It is more expensive than some of the others, but it doesn't take as much, and it lasts longer.

With both a brush and roller, Valspar does not start getting clumpy in the middle of the job. I really hate when paint does that, and Valspar doesn't.

Another plus is that if it drips, it wipes up fine. If it sits there, then it doesn't. But, I don't know of any paint that will. Catch a drip quick, and no problem with Valspar.

When wet the colors look a little different than the swatches, but they dry true. My son picked a dark, royal blue for his room. The paper was an exact match.

The color stays. I painted my room about a year ago and cleaned the walls this week. That dulls the color with some paints, but my color is still true even after a good washing. In fact, it looks like I repainted my room when all I did was wipe the walls.

I went to get paint for the kitchen and the guy gave me various prices. I think the Valspar was around $20 for a gallon versus $13 for an low end brand. There were some designer brands higher, but I got burned on one of those, so I was not even tempted. I bought Valspar and will look forward to a nice kitchen for several years.

As much work as it takes to paint a room, I would much rather spend a few extra dollars and have a paint that is easy to use and that will last. That's what I get with Valspar.

Thanks for checking in. I didn't have problems with runs, but the yellow did not cover like the can says it should. I still have shadows in the kitchen and should second/third coat. The green was fine. Beige OK too. Yellow - not so much.

We bought 5 different valspar colors. All were interior satin, two of the colors ran long after it was rolled on. I know how to paint. I've painted MANY times before. This occurance was very dissapointing.

That's Fred. He lives up there, because my cat hates him. He bit a chunk out of the front of Fred the day I brought him home.
