The hubby and I have shared 22 Valentine's Days together. In the early years, I often received a card with my favorite box of Fannie May. After we got married and started adding kids to the family, we suddenly found ourselves frazzled and sleep-deprived.
I can't remember the year I received the best Valentine gift of all, but I do remember we had kid number three in the picture. The hubby left a card on the counter before he went to work. The usual Valentine candy was missing.
I opened the card and there was a nice message about how wonderful it was having three kids and a great life. On the bottom, he mentioned that he was going to give me a massage later that night.
That night, the kids went to bed early and I walked into our room to discover an old blanket draped over the comforter. Candles were lit and a glass of wine on the nightstand. Sure enough, I received a wonderful massage and felt quite relaxed.
As every frazzled mom knows, there's nothing better than this.
