Hoover UH30010COM Bagged Vacuum
Bought the Platinum upright combo which includes a very powerful
canister vacuum. I compared this purchase very closely with Oreck..
and believe this Hoover to be better in several respects. First the upright
has a handle which makes using on stairs very easy. ( Oreck does not) The small canister
unit is even more powerful than the Oreck, and with a larger allergy free
bag. This combo cost right at $300. Its a great combo.
Shark Ultralite Multi-Vac Vacuum
Assembling this product is a nightmare --the parts are lying scattered in my living room -- the infomercial does not show the product in the state in which it arrives. Considering the general appeal of the product is the "ease it puts on your back" this product was not designed with someone in my health in mind. A warning about the assembly requirements MUST be added for consumers with health issues who will be purchasing this product for the lightweight design and ease of use product information the company exploits.
Riccar Radiance Vacuum
I have had my Riccar Radiance for about three weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it! I had my mind set on a Dyson and told this to the salesman. He informed me that Dyson has a "limited" 5 yr warranty and after 2 years, they do not cover the belt, etc. I was a little sceptical, so when I got home, I called the Dyson's 800 number. Turns out, he was right!!!
So, I marched back to Jones Sew and Vac and bought this vacuum cleaner. When I first got it home, I vacuumed with my old one I mostly used, Dirt Devil, and I vacuumed very slowly to give this vac a run for it's money. As I vacuumed...
review »Dirt Devil Feather-Lite
We have always had dogs, so we have gone through our share of vacuums. When the last one broke, we only had one dog inside, so we just went for the cheapest vacuum we could find (budget was a factor in this too). This vacuum was about $40 at WalMart. It is a bag vacuum with auto floor height adjuster. I do not think this vacuum was worth $40...$20 would have been better, for all the good its done. We have had this vacuum for maybe a year, and it has cleaned it's last carpet. I have unclogged the hose about a half dozen times in the last year. We change the bags on a regular basis, but despite the...
review »Oreck XL21 Vacuum
The Oreck vacuum seemed a little pricey but, I made payments and it was worth every penny I paid. The vacuum is easy to use, easy to push and, the handle is easy on the arms and hands. It has a position for floors and 1 for carpets; both work very well. I have a lot of hard wood floors and the floor position keeps me from having to sweep. Because of the handling, I can vacuum my whole house in a very short time.
The Oreck company has a great reputation. My mother paid the extra amount last year to step up to a better vacuum because of my great luck with the Oreck. One of the great things about...
review »Bissell Flip it Vacuum
I was so excited when I first purchased the Bissell Flip It. I thought it was a wonderful idea, you vacuum your floor and then turn your vacuum around and use it to mop your floor! I thought this would be a huge time saver. Wrong!! First, the Flip It is quite a bit bulkier than your broom and mop and that means there are several spaces you can't get to without attachments. The problem is that the Bissell Flip It has no attachments. So, while the vacuum does pick up well, without attachments you still feel like you're not getting your floor clean. I have a problem with mine leaking...
review »Roomba 530 Vacuum
Mesmerizing to watch, the Roomba 530 does a good job cleaning under and around chairs. It picks up the dust that attaches to chair legs, which is a nice feature. That's it for the good things I have to say.
The Roomba doesn't do corners well; it inexplicably skips certain portions of rooms; it occasionally drops small clumps of dust in the middle of a room. It ruins all kinds of area rugs, from fine antiques to simple modern styles. Dhurries, rag rugs, Persians -- none are exempt from this rug-killing machine. Somehow the Roomba finds a tiny loose end, a minute bump, a worn edge, and...

review »Bissell Vacuum Healthy Home Vacuum Vacuum
The Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum has great suction power. It has always picked up everything I needed it to. It has even ripped up my phone cord charger when I accidentally ran over it. All the attachments work great. I have vacuumed my blinds, baseboards, carpets, rugs, and especially the highchair with it. My son loves to eat crackers so there are always crackers everywhere! This vaccum picks up every speck of food. There is a carpet height adjustment knob, but I still find it very hard to push. Maybe its the fact that I am pregnant and have a one year old at home. That's tiring enough! Every...
review »Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum
Summary: This is arguably one of the best "bagless" household vacuum cleaners money can buy. Dyson's root cyclone technology really does perform. And this latest Level 3 Root Cyclone trumps even its other models.
If you're serious about having a real clean environment, this is THE product to buy. I just moved into an apartment a month ago and they replaced the carpets in most of the area and steam cleaned the others that they deemed need not be replaced. I used the vacuum in both and I can tell you that steam cleaning old carpets may get rid of surface dirt and stains, but Dyson is your friend...
review »Eureka Maxima Upright Bagless Vacuum
I bought this vacuum strictly for the basement(where our Home Theatre is set up). It was a pain in the *ss carrying our canister up and down all the time, so I happened upon this cleaner on sale at Home Depot for a mere $70.00... I was initially skeptical at first, I mean a $70 vacuum? However, I purchased it anyway, knowing that I would be able to return it if I wasn't happy. The setup and assembly was fairly quick. The instructions were easy to follow and featured step-by-step illustrations. When I had everything ready to go, I decided to give it a "test run", and I was impressed. I was amazed...
review »Hoover Widepath Tempo Vacuum
Despite the rave reviews here on amazon and on other sites, I was not expecting much with such a low price. My expectations were certainly rewarded with an amazing value, a great vacuum, and the usual Amazon speedy delivery. It is really hard to believe that such a good product could be so inexpensive, even if it is made in Mexico. The build quality is excellent. However, for someone tall, like me, (6'4") the handle is not long enough, the bag is on the small side, and the unit is noisy (but not any more so than other vacuums I have had that were 3x the price), but those are the only negatives...
review »Dyson DC14 Vacuum
This vacuum is a must if you have pets. We have a german sheppard that sheds like mad during the spring and summer months. He has clumps of hair that fall off of him and onto the floor. So the clumps are the bigger mess that you can see but there are obviously many more stray hairs that you cannot see laying in the carpet. We get enough hair every day out of the carpet to fill a bag a week in a bagged vacuuum. The first time we had the Dyson I vacuumed our floors with our standard vacuum and then vacuumed with the Dyson. We had 2 canisters of dirt and hair from our living room alone. ...
