MobiGo

I bought one of these VTech MobiGo Learning Systems for each of my boys about a year ago. They are so much fund and very educational. A new one comes with a few free downloads, but the free ones usually aren't great. There are additional apps and books you can buy online and download. The prices vary, but they aren't too expensive. They also have cartridges you can buy in the stores. My kids like those better because they have more well known cartoon characters than the downloadable ones. You can buy the games that teach math, reading, writing, logic, rhyming, colors, numbers, and just about anything else you can imagine. The mobigo has a slide out keyboard, but most games don't require it. If you don't need it, you can just slide it back up and use the buttons beside the screen. It has a touch screen, and it comes with a stylus. The stylus is tiny and easily lost, so I suggest buying some replacement ones. This is a great educational video game system.

Perfect learning tool!!

My son got the Mobigo when he was 2 and he is still playing it at 4 years old. It is easy to use and operate even at his age. The games are age appropriate and very easy to play and learn. It make s him feel like a big boy playing a video game but it makes mommy happy knowing he is learning while having fun!!

Awesome for the kiddos

I bought this for my 3 year old son and a few games to go along with it. I love the educational side of the games that reinforce what he is currently learning. He likes that the games are fun and the handheld is touch screen. I like that there is a keyboard that slides up. The graphics are fine for a child's handheld and is still working after many many drops.

Good fit for my kids.

I bought three of these systems, one for each of my children. My daughter was the first one with a game system, a DS I got her for her birthday and sadly, it was broken in a week. She accidentally dropped it and it was ruined. Instead of buying her another one I went in search of something more kid-friendly. The Mobigo was a perfect fit. The games for it are all kid-friendly (my kids love them) and it definitely stands up to use better than a DS. (My son has dropped his Mobigo more than once and it still works fine.) Though this time around I was smarter and got protection on all of the systems, just in case. ;) I would definitely recommend the Mobigo system for young children. The games for it are educational and fun.

Great learning toy game system for young children

My 3-year-old loves her "PSP Computer"! I was a little unsure at first if she would be able to use it by herself. She now has to show me how!! The games are great. Each one makes learning fun for the child. My 10-year-old son also enjoys playin on here. The main drawback is the battery life. You can help this by using it with the optional wall adaptor.

Mobigo great for little hands, sturdy

I got the mobigo for my son when he was 3. I think it is a great little hand held game system. Most games are educational & it really is his. He can put the games in and take them out etc. It is not too delicate for a toddler boy. Wonderful for a road trip. I purchased this for him right before he had to have his tonsils out, it really helped distract him for the discomfort etc. for those 2 weeks! :)

Mobigo does not live up to my expectations

Let me first point out that my son also has the leapster explorer so my review does come after much comparison. The mobigo is a good idea but in my opinoun poorely exucuted. It does not have a stylus (pen) so the child uses his finger to choice activites/play. This was one feature I was disapointed in as my son does not attend preschool and feel that learning to use and hold a pen is important. It also slides out in which my son becomes frustrated with. It is hard for him to manueaver and I feel it might break soon. I only purchased one game and as I sat next to him to monitor. I felt that it had very little educational value in the game. The numbers/letters underneath the slider are also slightly smaller then I hoped for. Overall Its an ok toy. My son has since left this on the table and hasnt asked for it and touched it in weeks. He plays with his leapster explorer everyday and is four yours old.

This device definitely teaches my 2 year old improve his language and number skills. He enjoys learning while playing all these great games. I had recently ordered the Mobigo storage game, I had downloaded about 30 games onto it. Mobigo is a great device that keeps my son occupied with fun learning activities.

great learning system

My middle daughter (I have several) loves this Vtech Mobigo Learning System. This product is somewhat like a like portable unit for kids to take a long with them. The product says for three to seven years, but my two year old is big into these types of toys and she loves her mobigosystem. I think it is highly entertaining and my wife and i love that the games are very educational. The system is easy to work with a little instruction, but she is two and a 3 year old or older could use it easily. thescreen is a good size and i think this thing could survive an earthquake it looks quite solid. My wife is in love with thecute and educational games on the website that you can downloadand I love that i can buy one reload cartridge and she can save these games on it. The download games are better than the cartridge games in my opinion and some of them are easy enough for our little girl to use on her own like the coloring pages and the keyboard anddrums. the download games are free for one year after you register the systems warranty online. I really recommend you check out some of the online games, some of them are really good.

the Vtech Mobigo System is great for learning

Every time we went into the toy department, our 4 year old son ran straight to the Mobigo Learning System display. We got it for his birthday and he was so happy. He loves his Mobigo. The touchscreen is such a nice touch. It makes him feel grown up like he has a device like my phone. The slide out keyboard is really nice. Everything is set up perfectly for little hands to hold and reach comfortably. It has a QWERTY keyboard which is great for giving kids the skill of using a keyboard. It also has a directional pad so kids can use it or touchscreen. Each game builds different skill sets. It is made to grow with your child. The games can be set on easy or more difficult settings. Parents can also connect it to the Learning Lodge and keep up to date on their child's progress and learning. Plus you can download more games. The downside to that, which is a huge con for the system, is the downloads disappear when you turn the system off, so if your child wants to play them again you have to download them on the system again. This is a big head-scratcher here. But there are several different games with popular characters on them, and the games are set up so that it feels more like a game with learning slid in on the side. This makes my son want to play it longer and he has alot of fun using his Mobigo and it doesn't feel like 'learning'. I have noticed he has learned alot from the games already!
