We kept buying $20 phones and replacing them at least once a year, so this was our upgrade.  I was a bit concerned about having an attached answering machine (I like my units separate, so if one breaks, you can replace just the broken unit), but I can overlook that.  Mine came with 3 handsets and... review »

I would not recommend the V-tech phone with answering machine, Can't hear very well with the phones. Hard to retrive the answering machine calls, very hard to erase the old messages on the phone. Have erased calls several times only to find sometime down the road they would pop back up.Kind of scary.... review »

We wanted a good phone and answering machine system, with at least 2 cordless phones.  The v tech 5.8 ghz with 3 phones and answering machine for about $80 at Costco seemed like the best deal.  However, within a month, one of the handsets was almost unusable, including problems with both dialing (buttons don't work much of the time) and answering (about a 5 second delay before the unit activates).  A second unit works most of the time, but also has a delay between pick-up and ability to hear/talk.  The only unit that works well is the one that is permanently assigned to the main unit. Switching... review »

I love this phone system. It works wonderfully and is so easy to use. I can walk outside and it doesn't quit. I can even drive halfway down my street before I lose the base signal. I just can't say enough about this wonderful product. I even like the blue light that it lights up when you are getting a call. Saving numbers, using redial, and basically all the features are easy to use without ever having to read the manuel.

Really this phone has just about everything....caller ID, caller ID for call waiting, memory, speed dialing, specific ringtones for whoever you want, redial, 2 handsets, and you can transfer calls from one handset to another. The only thing really missing is it does not have speaker phone, which I would use alot. It also has belt clips and the ability to plus in earphones to talk hands free.

These phones worked for less than two years before 3 of the 4 handsets quit working.  VTech customer service was no help, other than offering me an "exclusive" 15% discount to buy another one of their products.  Yeah, right.  Will not buy VTech again.

Hello Everyone! My name is Laura and I am going to write a review on the Vtech 5.8 GHz landline cordless phone with three additional handsets. The first thing I can say is WHAT A DEAL!! I usually shop at Sams Club if I am looking for electronics such as printers, phones and cameras just to give me an idea of a price point. Sams doensn't have nearly the choices of others stores like Computer City, Office Depot, etc. but if they do have something you like it is always a better price there.

I usually always use my cell phone to conduct all my phone calls on but since I need a fax line at home I chose...

The phone is pretty easy to use and set up the answering machine and change the date and such. My biggest complaint is when someone has left a message the phone beeps, so if I'm sleeping and don't want to answer the phone - now I have to deal with this beep like dripping water and have to get outta bed and listen to the long message then delete it so it stops beeping. Or listen to the entire message and wait til it's done if I have to save it. That also bothers me there'd be a beep while on vacation, so I ususally turn off answering machine. I've also had complaints about friends unable to...

The 6.0 GHz Quadline cordless phone by VTech offers an excellent land-line system for your home.  The 4 busiest rooms in the house will offer portable hand-set with individual recharger.  This system, with interference prevention, will give the user clear voice reception and transmittance.  The audio quality is as good as or better than any corded phone.  Other features include:  message recording with alert light, room speaker for each unit, paging from any unit to another, good variety of ring selection, and handset sound locator.  This household phone system by VTech offers the currently... review »

I have a vtech 5.8 cordless phone. I had to return the first one because it did'nt work.  When I got the second one home the sound was horrible and the range terrible. I always heard static and could not walk into my livingroom from my bedroom without it cutting off. It must be the brand because what are the chances of me getting two bad phones. I guess thats what you get when you only spend $39.95.

Can't comment on this specific model, but got a vtec last Christmas and it worked for about a month before the battery quit holding a charge.  Bought new battery, but phone would not charge at all.  Phones are neat looking, but function poorly.  Batteries were hard to find in stores had to order online.  Would not recommend this model to anyone.

This is totally worth the price my first came with a rebate form. Which was really a present for my sister. Her kids loved the V-TECH.This would be the first cordless in the their household. This was when the were just on the market. The neighbors were so impressed as she could walk over to nosy Sheila's house to get her tupperware back while talking to me.

I would not have a home phone except that my husband's job requires him to be accessible 24/7. So that is the only reason I went phone shopping, after comparing all that was available, this is the one I kept going back to. The only thing it does not have is a speaker phone, but it has everything else.
