VTech - 5.8 GHz Quad Line Cordless Phone — 

I have a vtech 5.8 cordless phone. I had to return the first one because it did'nt work.  When I got the second one home the sound was horrible and the range terrible. I always heard static and could not walk into my livingroom from my bedroom without it cutting off. It must be the brand because what are the chances of me getting two bad phones. I guess thats what you get when you only spend $39.95.
