VTech - 5.8 GHz Quad Line Cordless Phone —
We wanted a good phone and answering machine system, with at least 2 cordless phones. The v tech 5.8 ghz with 3 phones and answering machine for about $80 at Costco seemed like the best deal. However, within a month, one of the handsets was almost unusable, including problems with both dialing (buttons don't work much of the time) and answering (about a 5 second delay before the unit activates). A second unit works most of the time, but also has a delay between pick-up and ability to hear/talk. The only unit that works well is the one that is permanently assigned to the main unit. Switching the units around does not seem to make any difference for the two bad ones, e.g. putting one of the two non-working ones on the main unit. It may be that this particular unit is faulty, but I'll be a lot more careful when I buy another one.
