I hate vegetables. I'm sorry vegetables, I really am but eeeeeew. Now, I'm working on broadening my horizons and smothering them with natural spices during light cooking to help drown out the vegetabley taste and still keep the nutritional content. Its working out very slowly. Very, very, very slowly.

I came across this drink by accident. I was starving at work and a customer bought me the drink. Being the only food I had, I inhaled it. I had the Pomegranate Blueberry flavor and it was excellent. This juice has a full serving of vegetables AND fruits (and no, you don't even have to drink the whole bottle. This is contained per juice serving and the bottle I got had 2.5 servings). Now, should V8 Fusion be a replacement for vegetables? Of course not. It doesn't contain all the nutrients you can get from vegetables but its a great start for picky eaters like me.

Now yes, this contains sugar. But its not added sugar. This is the same sugar that you would get if you ate all the fruits and vegetables contained within the juices.

I love almost all the flavors... I recently bought the goji rasberry and its just not my cup of tea. But its not enough to knock it down a star. V8 started with 3 flavors. So far I've had 5 (they include Pomegranate Blueberry, Strawberry Banana, Passion Fruit Tangerine, Tropical Orange, and Açai Mixed Berry) so they are quickly expanding. Surely if you search you will find one to suit your taste buds and your body will thank you.

Aside from being good for you and being very yummy, this juice is actually very filling so I can see how someone can include it into a diet for weightloss. I tend to eat until I'm stuffed and this wouldn't be so bad it I weren't stuffing with things like pizza. When I have my V8, I can still have my pizza, but a whole lot less, and I'm still full.

On a personal level, knowing that I'm drinking something so healthy is making me rethink my food options. Instead of getting the meatball marinara sub, I'll get the healthier tuna. Introducing something like this into your lifestyle can have subtle but good changes in your every day decisions. It also makes me feel much better about myself when I finish a bottle of my V8 Fusion versus chugging a bottle of Coke.

Now this is a little bit pricier than some drinks, like soda for example. At my local CVS, a 20oz V8 costs about $1.30 vs a 20oz Coke which is about a nickle less. Its doesn't seem like much but more is more and it does add up. But I believe my health is worth it so I ignore the price tag. At the grocery store its a bit harder to ignore when the big bottle is almost $5 and its sitting next to the generic brand "fruit punch drink" that is bigger and half the price. Again, I just close my eyes and remember that its better in the long run.

Eating healthier is as easy as trading your soda with a V8 Fusion when you have dinner or lunch (or, gasp, both!).
