V8 Fusion —

I have always been a fan of V-8 juice and when this came out I had to try it. On the first trip I got the Tropical Orange, Strawberry/Banana and Peach Mango. I couldn't wait to get home and get it cold to give it a try.

The Taste

Once it got cold I was ready for some taste testing, my first glass was the Tropical Orange. After reading the label and seeing it also had pineapple and carrots in it I knew it would be good. You can taste the carrots and orange juice right away, the pineapple is a little less noticeable yet that is where the silky taste comes from. My second glass was the Peach Mango, also with carrots, peach and mango. Not as much twang as the Tropical Orange but just as good and refreshing with a slightly silky feeling most likely from the peach.

Of course my third glass was of the Strawberry/Banana (I saved the best for last) I have always loved strawberries and this was no disappointment. The carrots mingled very well with the strawberry and the banana sent it through the roof. It was fantastic and a very smooth drink. It reminded me of a strawberry milkshake but with out the milk...lol Very Rich and creamy, but not too sweet as you would expect.

Besides carrots the other veggies in these would be beets, sweet potato and tomato (yellow or red depending on the variety you choose) and they all mingle together very well and provide a very good taste. I experienced no aftertaste in any of these 3 and although sweet, it was not overly sweet to where it was overbearing.

I am not a big fan of pomegranate but I love blueberry so I did finally break down and try it anyway. Although it was a good taste for the most part, the pomegranate was just not for me. It did have the same smooth and silky taste and was not overly sweet either. My wife loves all four flavors and we buy it all the time. She does have the pomegranate/blueberry all to herself though....lol

Bottom Line

If you just can't seem to get your daily quota of fruits and veggies give V-8 Fusion a try. I like mine ice cold and my wife likes it over rocks. The point is my wife is not a veggie eater for the most part, so seeing her drink this makes me feel good. Even the kids love this stuff, so much that I had to hide some in the office fridge just so I would have some for me (evil grin).

If you have picky eaters in your house then sneak a glass of this to them and don't let them know there are veggies in there. To be honest if I didn't read it on the label I probably would never know myself.

Now for the curious people out there I will include the nutritional part of it:

In response to Kronos2050's comment from Jan 5, 2008 at 7:39PM:

it is usually about 1/2" from the top and to tell you the truth the soft material they use for the lids makes it hard to feel when you break the seal. The level will usually drop another 1/2" once you open it, I know this because it is hard to get it shook up without first opening it to let air in it. It is almost like a vacuum seal of sorts. I hope that helps and ty for reading. Ron

I just baught a bottle of this stuff and noticed that it is not full to the top of the container. I opened it nd couldn't tell if it was already broken. Since I don't feel like going to walmart again to refund my purchase, is it normally like this? lol thanks
