My daughter attended this school for 6 years and did not get a degree. Year 1 she was in Web Design. After a year UVSC dropped the major as a choice. UVSC is becoming a University and they can only offer a set number of majors and must offer a set type of majors is the explanation we recieved. Year 2 she was in Design. She took housing design textiles and such classes. They then dropped that major as well. Year 3 she was shoved down the stairs by a young man in a rush to get to class and tore up her knee and had surgery. Student insurance didn't cover the injury. Teachers wouldn't work with her to help her pass her classes. Year 4 she went off on a 5 month internship to Disney World where she twisted her knee again. Not one of her teachers would work with her after surgery. Year 5 she moved into Theatre Design. Whoo Hoo one full year of classes they won't be dropping as unabale to fit into a major. Year 6 she designed the makeup for a theatre show called "The Marrying Man". One of the actors was playing an old man and needed old man makeup. He was vain and didn't want to look THAT OLD. So he would go into the men's room and wash off halp the makeup. The director chewed him out publicly about my daughters dedication, hard work, designs blah, blah, blah. Then her acting teacher had a heart attack and was replaced with a graduate student. Guess who? Mr. I don't want to look THAT OLD. My daughter got an "F" in the class which ruined her grade point average. She left in disgust when the school wouldn't even talk to her aabout the grade. "It's fully up to the teacher as to what grade you are given." They need to get their act together if they expect to be taken seriously as a University rather than a Community College.
