Not often will I start out a review like this, but, If you have not yet seen this movie, get off the computer and get to the rental store and rent it!!! Just kidding, but I am very passionate about this movie. I am not an action movie kind of girl, they aren't my favorite type of movie. Not that I hate action movies, I just prefer comedy's, chick-flicks, mystery's, etc, but this movie BLEW ME AWAY and made me a HUGE Kevin Spacey fan for life. This movie can be considered a thriller as well as action. I am not going to say that I can figure all movies out, but I can usually have a clue on who the bad guy is, what is going to happen, or whatever the mystery is, but I did not see this one coming.

The Suspects:
This movie has a long list of actors that are all equally great. When the movie first came out (1995), Kevin Spacey and Benicio Del Toro were not very well known, but have gone on to make themselves household names. It also stars Gabriel Byrne, Kevin Pollak, Stephen Baldwin, Chaz Palminteri, and many other actors. It is directed by the wonderful Bryan Singer, who was pretty well unknown then too. Kevin Spacey won an Oscar for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Verbal Kint. The movie also won an Oscar for best screenplay. Benicio Del Toro is hilarious. The acting in this movie is just mesmerizing and reason enough to see this film.

The Plot:
I am not going to go into detail on this because I would go on forever, plus don't want to give anything away, but the movie revolves around Verbal Kint, a con man who is crippled, in an interrogation room being questioned by the police about a boat that exploded, killing many people. Kint gives a story that starts 6 weeks earlier starting when him and 4 other felons were locked up for hijacking a truck with gun parts. All 5 are released, but not until after they all come up with a scheme to get $91 million. They all find out they are being blackmailed by Keyser Soze, who is a criminal mastermind that is so feared that even the hardest of criminals won't speak of him. Kint is the only survivor of the 5 felons, and weaves a story that just gets more and more intense from there as you learn more about these 5 felons and find out how they came to try to commit 1 final crime with a payoff they can't refuse. This movie has 1 important question "Who is Keyser Soze?"

This is a true thriller with a shocking ending. It will keep you wrapped up in its story from the beginning to the end. The 1st time I watched it, I immediately rewound the tape and watched it again (yep, before dvd's!). I would highly recommend it to anyone, just make sure you can devote almost 2 hours to it because you won't want to have to stop for any reason!!
