I have been a member of this site for years.  I also have the UPromise credit card. — I think this site is very helpful.  Since the site is free to join, u get money for free.  Some people have said it isn't worth the little bit of money u receive.  But even the little bit… read full review »

The UPromise idea is great--shop and dine as you usually would, and the companies you support will put money into your kids' college education funds.  There are lots of companies and products participating in the online shopping section, and it's easy to sign up and… read full review »

I have been a member of Upromise since my son was born in 2003.  Since then, I have accumulated $315 in my account.  That's not a lot of money, especially for being a participant for five years.  However, it's still FREE money that I wouldn't have received if I didn't join Upromise. — Could I have accumulated more money in my account?  Absolutely.  I'm the first to admit that I don't use the online shopping link as much as I should and that I also don't use my Upromise credit card very often.  Once again though, it's still FREE money. … read full review »

I've been a member of Upromise.com for about 4 years.  Last year I began to use the site more and the $ is adding up.  Many other reviewers are correct when they say that the money back is small each time that you shop.  Many of us shop online so why not get money back, whatever the amount is, we're going to shop anyway. — Tips for getting your cash back to add up: —… read full review »

We signed up for Upromise when our son was born. My in-laws and parents also joined. Since I do a lot of shopping on-line, it's an easy way to earn money for my son's college. All you do is register with Upromise, then shop through their site. Merchants contribute between 1%-25% of your purchase to your account.  Some merchants also offer incentives such as free shipping or other special offers when you shop through their link on the Upromise site. — — We also earned money through grocery shopping - you just register your store cards with them and it's automatically… read full review »

This site is great in that it lets you invest your money.  I like the fact that it lets you get credit from your Citi card.  I like that you can get friends and family to work with you to save for your kids education.  The problem is that unless your child is an infant, you have friends and relatives working with you, or you also put cash into it, I wouldn't count on it paying for more than a couple of  books. … read full review »

Upromise is a great website for anyone paying off a Sallie Mae student loan.  When you shop online and go through their website to certain merchants you get a percentage of your purchase as credit which can later be applied to your loan account.  You can also get credit for purchases of certain brands in-store, when you use a store card such as a Safeway Club Card or Fred Meyer.  — I like this site because I get extra rewards that are automatically put towards my student loan accounts.  That way I'm not tempted just to spend the credit on something else.  It is… read full review »

When I joined this site I didn't know whether to believe that it would actually save money for me.  Well, I can tell you now that it definitely does! — Join Upromise and before you make a purchase online look on their site to see if they are sponsored on Upromise.  If they are, follow the directions and a percentage of the money you spend there will go to your Upromise account. — You have to register your credit cards and store loyalty cards with Upromise and that is scary to a lot of people, but I haven't had any problems yet.  You can have more trouble handing… read full review »

I heard about Upromise from our local grocery store. I thought it was too good to be true. I get money back for my son's college education (mind you he's 6 months) without having to change the way I do things. — Of course it was too good to be true. I had to change my spending habits a little. I now check the upromise website before I do any purchases. I buy my gas only at Exxon/Mobil. I make sure that I buy grocery products that give money back. I try to eat at local restuarants that give money back. And I go through the website to make ANY online purchases. I even signed up for… read full review »

This website is a great way to save for college, IF you have a long time before the college years are upon you.  I joined when I returned to school as an adult, and I have only saved $125.00 in three years, but when my son was born three months ago, I signed him up and I am hoping by the time he goes to college (in 18 years) we will have saved about $2000 or more.  Once the savings reach $250, they can be invested. Contirbutions do not come you, but from companies that you buy from everyday.  All you do is register your grocery savings card and the participating companies… read full review »

To me this is a good way to start while a child is young putting a little bit away for college.  If you did $10 a month that is $120 a year for 18 years that is $2160 which is better than none.  It uses places I frequently shop at on the internet.  — The biggest disadvantage is I wish the toolbar would track where I am and apply the savings that way instead of having to go to the site each time and go in that direction. —… read full review »
