We signed up for Upromise when our son was born. My in-laws and parents also joined. Since I do a lot of shopping on-line, it's an easy way to earn money for my son's college. All you do is register with Upromise, then shop through their site. Merchants contribute between 1%-25% of your purchase to your account.  Some merchants also offer incentives such as free shipping or other special offers when you shop through their link on the Upromise site.

We also earned money through grocery shopping - you just register your store cards with them and it's automatically added when you buy qualifying products (a list is available on the website). Upromise also offers a credit card which allows you to earn an additional 1% of any purchase.

In the first year we saved almost $1000 dollars by using Upromise.  I don't necessarily expect to save that much every year, but with the cost of education getting higher and higher, every little bit helps.  The site's free to join and easy to use.  It's a great way to save for education!

Wow, I can't believe that you received $1,000 in your first year! I've been a member of Upromise since my son was born in 2003 and we only have $300 saved and that includes using the Upromise credit card.
